Yeah the reality and the evidence clearly show something is rotten in Denmark with union in this regard.

By all means you support it though.

What that says about you is worrying...

This article also tends to repeat precisely what I said in the post above.

Additional note - 8 of the 11 Wallabies mentioned have rugby league backgrounds.

You're right, its borderline institutionalised racism.

3 players of Aboriginal or TI descent in Super 14 and two of those came from Rugby League.

Vs

11% of NRL players of Aboriginal or TI descent.

And it has nothing to do with the school system, even though Aboriginals are scarcer than rocking horse manure in Union schools. I played for Liverpool City on the weekends in the 1970's and it was basically walk-up and you played.

Come to think of it, there was only white kids playing in that team and the opposition teams.

It seems that South African Rugby Union isn't alone...

EA,

I think you are being generous with your inclusion of the word "borderline".

We of course also have a far better record than soccer and RU in England on this score (ie. racial inclusion).

A black man, the wonderful Clive Sullivan, captained the GB rugby league team in the 1972 World Cup (and helped win the Final - on countback! - in the end with his cracking try). Jason Robinson only did the same for English union within the last 5 years or so.

Where did Billy Whiz come from?

(Hint for rah rahs - grab the 1995 RL Challenge Cup Final for a look sometime)

I guess George Gregan was just a white man blacked up? How many Polynesian descent players are there in S14? Surely if it was a racist sport they wouldn't have had a coloured capt for all those years and they wouldn't be letting islanders play the game? Sometimes the BS on here to have a dig at another code is like being back in the school playground (and I hate RU~!)

Yeah, that's probably it and that one player proves that Aboriginal and PI players are embraced by Rugby Union in Australia, because George Gregan played for Australia.

<sarcasm>Even though George was born in Zambia, your sentence isn't stupid.</sarcasm>

We're talking about Aboriginal or TI players and you're barking about George Gregan and PI players.

Moron.

Is there anything discussed here that you have any idea about?

Anything?

If only Gregan was A or TSI you might have a point.

Oh...you don't?

Wow. Knock me down with the feather duster.

Gee these threads are great for bringing out the rah rah sympathisers.

Shame they've got nothing between them.

The first Aboriginal to play Rugby Union for Australia was a bloke named Lloyd McDermott, in the 1960's.

There are only 7 to have played Rugby Union for Australia, ever.

Embarrassing.

But if you ask the ARU, they will probably claim 40 or 50. They have a habit of re-writing history.

On page 6 of the following they claim about Mark Ella...

becoming the first Aboriginal in any sport to captain Australia.[/size"

According to Rugby Union, Arthur Beetson never existed.

The biggest revisionists in Australian sport. No doubt.

If you have any doubt, read something by Peter Jenkins some time. icon_lol.gif

Australian Union = white bread

Something to be very proud of...Not.

You standing for the anthem, Serge?
