| The easiest solution for the RFL is to expand the Championship to 12 clubs, 2 up and keep Leigh, then introduce one new club + Donny to C1.
As it's Leigh going down however, who knows?

We're coming to make some noise!: |
|
| Quote: Smiggs "How ironic that a Rovers fan should start a thread about another club receiving special dispensation!!'"
Rovers have no special dispensation, Lovegrove is classed as home grown till he leaves Rovers when he'll be classed as Federation Trained. Only players next season to have any kind of dispensation will be Stan if he signs a new deal! So what is your point?

Not being funny or anything but who will be leaving then (apart from azuie)
As excluding dispensations you can only have 6 overseas players next season and you have 10 this season (including two on dispensation)

| Quote: Dick Jones "No Robbie paul s playing for free ala Radlinski and then hes becoming academy coach in 2 years time
Then we have the real problem with the competitions outside SL
All bar one or two clubs are struggling to raise enough revenue to spend up to the salary cap in either division without massive input from their BOD,s
No clubs are making increases in attendances
No clubs are improving off the field to any large degree
This is what is needed more than anything else
None of these clubs are going to draw in big money investors , even the expansion clubs that then do have a pathway to eventually make SL
The clubs outside SL need investment to improve their fan bases and ultimatley their income streams
But do the RFL want the current clubs both heartland and expansion to grow ?
If this happens it will be harder for any new clubs to make the jump from an idea to a competitive Championship club
Therefore less likely for anybody to take the risk
As for any messing about to save Leigh ? , why we were rubbish we deserved to go down , we ask for SC dispensation , they either give it or dont
Either way we will still be around next year , the year after and the year after

You do realise Roofs that all the RFL expansionist plans are specifically aimed at getting you out of rugby league by making it impossible for you to attend any games. They'll get there in the end.

Ah right, I always thought it was just a very stubborn RFL refusing to admit that RL won't work in many places outside the M62 corridor (inc London ).

Forgive my ignorance, but surely in such a case there is a clause (ala Super League clubs who were relegated) that the contracts are only valid on the proviso that the club is still competing in that division?

Only if that clause was in the contract?
If there is no such clause in place then how can they legally end it??
