The Aussies would veto it as they would fear two Brits playing together in the sport's elite competition would be too much of a threat to antipodean dominance at international level. Just wait and see, they will bring a quota system in after a while to stop Brits benefitting from playing in the NRL.
Imagine the likes of Myler, McGuire, Roby, Tomkins, Westerman, Fergusen, Ellis, Burgess, Graham, Fox etc all trying to prove themselves in the NRL at the same time. Suddenly English Rugby league would have a credible chance and the Aussies would put a stop to it quick sharp - mark my words. They call us whingers but the minute that things are slightly going against them (e.g. Ganson reffing in the WC) they are throwing the toys out of the pram "its SOO unfair etc etc". One day the tide will turn and they'll find out that karmas a b1tch

The highlighted part is where it goes wrong.
Trying to prove yourself and doing it are very different things.
Ellis is going ok but not the star some on here have made out, he has been solid.
3 players in over a decade is not really enough.

You are right.
Harvey was solid but did not really hit the Radar to be honest.

news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_l ... 187447.stm
Chris Caisley, former Bulls chairman and now players agent is insisting there is a lot of interest in Bradford's Sam Burgess from several Aussie sides.
Caisley said: "My phone has been red hot. There has been plenty of interest from clubs in Australia, I would say from half of the NRL clubs."
He has always had an ambition to give Australia a shot and he thinks he can make a big impression."
I suppose he will be tempted to see if he can emulate Gareth Ellis, one of the few who has made a go of it in the NRL in recent memory. Anyone think he might stay in the UK, with the Bulls or any other side instead

| I really hope he stays in the UK.
I personally don't wish to see the NRL watered down with imports from o/s.
It's ruined GB/England at international level.
One token pom in the NRL is one too many!!

What a d1ck! Can't wait for you lot to get over here in October...
- with regards to Sam; I'd love to see him in the NRL but hope he sticks around SL for another year at least. See out your contract with the Bulls lad, then go do what you want.

Not a week goes by without one of them getting arrested.

I'm surprised an NRL club wants to take a gamble on him to be honest.
From what I've seen of him he is pretty ordinary.
I don't blame him for wanting to play NRL footy .... but I think he will end up the same way as the other poms who have tried it out.
