Games as big as Grand Finals define individuals and clubs. Remember, we only rent these journeys. In my time I had Pat Richard's shirt. Ellery Hanley had Sean O'Loughlin's jersey. Sam Tomkins is wearing Radders' number one jersey. Andy Coley is wearing Shaun Wayne's jersey. You have to make a mark in these shirts before you hand it down to someone else. Hand it back. So be aware for 80 minutes that you are not only playing, but you are also writing history and creating legacy. How many people actually write history - not many? A big stage demands big players…..INSPIRE YOUR TEAM MATES.

You mean prices paid to the Sports, yeah, rather than prices paid by the end user, which can surely only go UP. There will be no competition and Sky will have a monopoly and the ability to charge whatever it likes. Good times Rupert.
Back in the day, the Govt may have taken an interest in the situation, but they seem to have other fish to fry at the moment. |

Not if you don't want Setanta to go under. As far as I can see, they've not actually gone into administration yet.
The thing is, these things are often self fulfilling prophecies. Word gets out that they may be in trouble (and don't forget, Setanta themselves have not commented, yet), people start to cancel direct debits, which starves the company of cash, so they go under anyway because of it. |

After the difficulties I had in cancelling it doesn't surprise me, i'm sure like many others, the fact it was so hard last year, stopped me going back again this year.

Agreed. Their 'customer care' makes Sky (who aren't particularly great in that regard themselves) look positively brilliant. |

Don't quite get the idea that Setanta's existance has kept the prices down??... 
Before Setanta, Sky had mostly everything a sports fan wanted....40 odd quid....  ish
With Setanta, Sky had bits I wanted - 40 odd quid...Setanta had the other bits I wanted - a further tenner... 
Now with Setanta going belly up, hopefully Sky will get some of their old stuff back, and hopefully (well, big hopefully) stay 40 odd quid...  |

Wonder what effect that will have on Setanta US/Canada? I was planning to bin it anyway after SOO. I do like their footy coverage but hopefully those games will get picked up by other channels if Setanta goes belly up over here.

At the end of the day, Setanta as a company are bloody shocking. Just because Sky may pick up the pieces because of their collapse, doesn't mean people shouldn't cancel their direct debits with Setanta. That really is just ridiculous.
Good riddance in my opinion.
