| What a crap post total anti Leeds trolling, the lengths some will go with there agenda is laughable.
The rules are simple the ball must be passed backwards out of the gands back towards your own try line, where the ball travels in relation to the ground is totally irrelevant.
I know lets make every player stop running before passing turn around and pass it back, as some fans have no concept of how physics work.
Lets make them change the rules just because Leeds won a game i was baying fir them to loose. (Insert other teams fans like to hate Wigan usually and sometimes warrington)

Trouble with posting stuff like this and pointing out hard facts is, people with their own agenda just will only believe what they want anyway, like brexiters who still believe we give the EU £350 a week even though its been proven to be a lie. ( other famous lies are available examples france just gave up entirley in WWII, and Dunkirk was a victory definatly not Britain running away)

| Team irrelevant, it's all teams, if the ball goes forward deliberately, it's a forward pass, if the ball then touches the ground it's a knock - on ! If this is to be discounted, there is NO such thing as a forward pass or a knock - on & change the rules, no more calls everyone gets on with it & all can do what they want, I would be in favour, because you can always score !

Thought i was watching the Wakey v catalans highlights there,
To me if Yawnion can use video refs for the blatant forward passes then why can't the bloody hell we do the same especially when some are so blatant obvious OR is it just too easy for the video ref/ 4th official to tell the match ref it was blatantly forward and disallow it.

A couple of feet is momentum, but the fact the ball bounces a meter in front of it's intended recipient, who was travelling at the same speed as the passer and was 2 Meters behind him when the ball was passed, points to this being a forward pass, pure and simple.
London deserved to lose, because as usual they started both half's 10 minutes late, but Leeds can consider themselves very lucky if this decision either turns their season around or simply keeps them up......

| For me it's not about who deserves to win, it's about not having blatant bad decisions prospering, if players & coaches can be charged for bringing the game into disrepute, then to have blatant bad decisions on a consistent basis, also brings the game into disrepute.
There is another way to view forward pass, over running, ball drift momentum with an overhead camera for the odd occasion reference is needed ! A few frames & technology could determine once set - up via a computer to video screen.

Except you’d need to install that system in every stadium and also have someone operating it. Significantly increasing the cost of match coverage. It may not even be possible to install it at all stadiums as the Skycam requires high fixed points to work from.
As for blatant bad decisions. I don’t think there are that many forward passes going unpunished. Certainly not many blatant ones.
There is, however, a blatant lack of understanding amongst many RL fans over what a forward pass actually is and the consequences of having a sport where a forward pass is judged relative to the ground, something which a lot of vocal RL fans proclaim should happen.

| Nothing expensive about a drone sending video to a computer with software picking up an actual incident & flagging up for a video ref to use, as you have declared, there arnt that many so advice to refs ear piece would be low !
There seems to be always a reason why you cannot, never a reason why you can !
However, for the few reasons you say it doesn't happen that often, then change the rule to " forward pass allowed " equal to both sides, no arguments, easy to score, entertainment higher, no more bad decisions of excuses !

Do you really think that a drone would be in the correct position to pick up any contentious forward pass.
As you know, a pass can look blatantly forward when viewed for a certain angle and legitimate when viewed from a different position.
Your solution sounds quite simple and not too expensive to implement but, the reality is rather different.
We could ask the VR to adjudicate on forward pass calls, which would clear up some of them but there would still be plenty left for us to "argue" over, just as there are with try/no try calls.

You can bring all the cameras and VR as much as you want, that would still not be disallowed as it was passed backwards out off the hands. Get over if.

So he was trying to pass it to a player 2 metres behind him, but it only went 1 meter behind him
Sounds like it went backwards to me, just not as far as he intended.
Some people really need to listen more instead of starting off with the answer they want and making every bit of evidence fit the answer they want.
And what on earth do you mean by "a couple of feet is momentum" etc..?
A couple of feet isn't ok if the player is stood still I.e. from dummy half
Whereas if a winger is running at 20mph down the wing and passes the ball inside to a supporting player 8/9 metres away a couple of metres will be ok.
As it's all relevant to the momentum of the player passing the Ball.
Try throwing a tennis ball put of a car window backwards as you pass say a lamppost at 30mph and see if you can get it to land behind it, you'll be lucky if the ball lands less than 10mtrs in front of the lamppost.

yep i once threw a tin can out of a car window at a well known ref, i threw it at the back if his head, i saw it hit the floor out if my mirror 5 meters in from if him. (That was an example not a true fact not the ref but anyway)
