| He doesn't play for a fashionable club tho, we have said for years that if he played for one of the sky darlings they would be banging on about an international shirt.
He's a class player on his day and going well in the 2nd row so much so that if ferries was available next week he would struggle to get in

| One player who would do a good job at Centre for England doesn't even play SL.
Tom Armstrong at Leigh is a fantastic player. Quick, evasive, good step, athletic and unselfish. Along with good defence, he would not look out of place at all.
Obviously, we would just pick someone who plays for the big 4 though !!

Are you seriously suggesting we pick a championship player to play for England?

| If you have the skill set it doesn't matter what division you play in. As it stands ESL is still way behind the NRL. The championship isn't that far behind ESL. Not a likely starter but put him in the train on squad to further his development. Too many narrow minds

| Ah I see, it's one of those threads where everyone gets outraged that their clubs player isn't picked for England.
In that case I suggest, nay demand, Liam Cunningham be selected.

If he was as good as you say he would be playing in Super League.

| Watkins is our best centre. Sarginson did nothing wrong and actually made me admire him last autumn in the 4 nations, as I thought he'd not do much. After him I'd want Percival knocking on the door, but he's still a bit young yet.

| I'd heard Armstrong had Improved so watched him closely against Salford. He had a poor game and took a lot of wrong options.
As for a comment on this thread that the championship isn't that far behind superleague...how? Leigh aside and possibly Bradford most sides would get 50+ put on them each week.

| I like Wardle a lot. I'd like to have him at Saints.
Watkins has obvious quality.
Percival is a real gem.
I was impressed with Sarginson, but Bridge (who's also a very good centre) gave him a real lesson the other week.

| If Percival can hit the form he started this season with he should get a chance to play based on form imo...he was awesome up to his injury and even a stand out for us even against the Bunnies (they obviosuly saw something in him to show an interest in signing him). Sarginson played really well for England last year and will be up there for selection, and have rated Wardle for the last few years so if we could tempt him away from Scotland he could also have a chance.
Watkins is at top of the list and will rightly be in there (injury depending) but to have the 3 good, young options of Percival, Sarginson & possibly Wardle competing for other spot, it is looking better than previous seasons where we have struggled to find good centres to pick (Atkins has never really been international standard imo and hopefully Cudjoe wont be anywhere near an England shirt anymore)

he was,
he was solid enough at Saints as a kid, never really stood out as an outstanding prospect, although I believe we offered him a full time contract that he turned down to concentrate on his studies.
