| We're starting to build a dominant pack again and people want Sinfield back at 13 (which he hasn't played for years now). Just no.
And yes, Brough was better today. We'll see when Sinfield peaks at the end of the year like normal.

| As I've said before, this year Sinfield is doing too much tackling and affecting his attacking game.....by the 65min mark he was the 3rd highest tackler on the pitch behind only Crabtree and JJB. Not something that is ideal for a number 6 and should be understand that they have VERY different roles to play in their teams even if both picked at 6.
Plus that game wasn't won or decided by Brough vs Sinfield......it was about Hudds goalline defence.

I would keep tomkins at full back and have brough and widdop in the halves.I would rather have sinfield on the bench personally

| So do you ignore last week when Brough was totally dominated? He is far too inconsistent.

| Brough was helped immensely by getting decent ball from a proper hooker.

| I don't understand why Brough is dismissed by so many because he has the odd poor game, yet Sir Kev isn't afforded the same treatment.

It seems to me to exactaly the opposite in this case. Personally I'd pick both of them in the halves. No matter how much Bull Mania witters on with his obsession Sinfield will play. McNamara has made him captain, and has pretty much confirmed several times that Sinfield is his first choice half.

This. One game is all it was. I'd have Sinfield over Brough at the WC for what it's worth.

| If Sinfield is selected at 6 for England we might as well not bother turning up. As already mentioned he spends far too much time grafting. If his job is grafting he needs to be played at 13. 6 needs to be a creative player which Sinfield is not and never will be. We can't afford to lose a creative player just to shoehorn Sinfield into the side, this is something that's been wrong with the international game for many years now. Big name players playing out of position does not work, no matter who they are.

| Tackling stats from league games
- Sinfield = 313 - Avg 26 (only 9 less total tackles than main prop Peacock)
- Brough = 174 - Avg 13.4 (109 less total tackles than main prop Crabtree)
- Burrow = 100 - Avg 8.5
- Lunt = 392 - Avg 28
If Sinfield could have Brough's workload in defence then he could be doing more in attack. However we don't have a tackling hooker at 9 and Sinfield is having to make up for that (last year we tried 'hiding' all '3' of our halves, that's why we were so poor in defence last year compared to this year, this year we aren't trying to 'hide' Sinfield in defence)......not a problem though that he'd face at International level with Roby most likely to be there.

Of course, the other side of the argument against those stats is that maybe Huddersfield organise their defence better than Leeds when it comes to making sure their key man doesn't spend his games tackling...

I could understand this argument if in the last 20 Sinfield didn't play well, but for the whole 80 minutes he went missing. He hit the first man almost every time he passed the ball and i didn't see him put a decent kick in all day apart from a couple of bombs.
I just thought today showed that Sinfield is not a 6 and Brough is. I would choose Sinfield at 13.

Apart from the sin bin Brough played well last week. Especially considering he played behind a beaten pack and Robinson and Grix were awful meaning he was the only option in attack

I thought the playoffs last year showed that Sinfield was a 6 including a Harry Sunderland award.......but probably best we judge based on the 5th Round of the CC
He's fine at 6 if he can play the role properly in attack & defence......its not coincidence that the playoff games he was lauded in last year that Lunt played big minutes in them.
If Hudds had Burrow at 9 you'd see Brough struggle.

It seems having Burrow at 9 in attack trumps keeping Sinfield fresh for attack in the stand off.....dont quite get it either but that's not Sinfield's fault, neither does it mean he won't do better for England.
