| Steve Ferres with a wonderful start if it does turn out to be true!
"we need to sell more season tickets"
Then sell the best player in the team, for a cut down price
Yeah, good move Steve

The Power is with the players these days, despite his contract if he wants to leave then Cas have no choice but to let him go and at least get some money for it.
I would guess that Cas and Ferres have no choice about this move, they are doing what is best for the club.

Doing the best for club is holding out for what the player is worth - if nobody stumps it up then tough.
Cas, as always are pushovers....I await Daryl Clark going to Warrington for next season too, word will get out how easy it is to get Cas players and the one's that are actually any decent (so 3-4 of them
We're not finished yet! Who are your halves going to be next season?

| Nothing has changed from earlier in the weekend. This story on the HDM website is effectively a condenced version of a rumours thread in the Hull FC forum.

| I'm not saying its not going to happen but since when has a story in the Hull Dail Mail been gospel?
Methinks some on here should await an official club announcement before gloating/crying etc!!

But what is the player worth? That would depend on his ability, form and attitude. No-one doubts his ability, but recently his form and attitude has done nothing but lower his value. The Ropati incident and then being disciplined by his club (regardless of what happened) on top of not playing that well and suddenly he's worth a lot less. Then if he makes it clear he wants to move but isn't allowed to, how will that affect his form and so his value?
As long as its not a derisory sum then Cas would be well advised to take the much needed cash.

| Hull DC (Drinking Culture) from now on?
I thought Gentle would be the type of coach who would want to stay away from these types of players.

Is this why Hull KR sign so many Aussies? To work behind the bars serving half of the FC first team?

| Thought he was on his way to Wigan as a direct replacement for Finch and to link up with Matty Smith.
Didnt see him joining the Black & Whites tbh. Who will he replace Horne or Seymour?

Wigan quashed the reports a few weeks ago IIRC. We're now reportedly after Ben Hornby or Jamie Soward, with Hornby the more likely option.

Horne's moving to fullback for next season, so whomever we sign will be playing at 6.
Chase is a fantastic player and would improve nearly any side in the league as there aren't many SL halfbacks that are better than him, but his off the field record is a concern. As long as it is made clear to him what is and isn't acceptable, and there are clauses in the contract related to this, then I'm okay. I would give him one chance, and whenever he's in the Black and White (if he did sign) he would get my full support.
I think that this thread is a little premature, though. Might have been worth waiting to see an announcement of somebody signing before making a thread declaring it.
For those saying about Chase and Westerman reuniting, Westerman's been at Hull for a couple of seasons now and has not stepped out of line once. And, if they're such good friends, they're not exactly far away from each other at the moment and just because they play for different clubs doesn't mean that they couldn't meet up in their spare time if they wanted to at the moment.
