| I believe it was the Daily Star as I'm told that is the chip shop's regular paper.

| Quote: Saddened! "I read an interesting article today about comments made by Andrew Dunneman. It claims he has stated that at the Super League clubs he was at (Leeds and Salford? I'm not sure) the players were warned well in advance of the arrival of drugs testers, thus giving them time to plan their recreational activities/injuries.
It also claims Dunneman reckons a lot of Super League players use 'over the counter' performance enhancing stimulants. I wasn't aware such things existed.'"
Many RL players are well known in their communities, and as such people are aware of their recreational activities. Hock's activities were an open secret some time ago, and there are others who I've been told about from reliable sources (but won't mention because I've read the AUP) who engage in similar behaviour.
As for over the counter performance enhancers there are loads, WADA bans plenty of substances that are present in even rather mundance products like cough mixtures and herbal teas, how much of a performance enhancement they give versus say anabolic steroids is a moot point, but doping policies don't really allow for common sense, they're pretty black or white in their interpretations.

| I find it more shocking that people eat chips, at dinner time, on any day other than a Friday. Does that work for you? I'd be asleep by now.

| Quote from today's Express from Dunemann
"Players find out over there when the drugs testers are coming to games. One of my team-mates got wind they were coming and arrived at the ground on crutches. They didn't test him. Next day at training he was out doing sprints with the rest of us. That was a little suspicious!"
If they get told, how the hell did hock get caught??

To be fair to Gareth I think he's a simple lad who doesn't involve himself in conspiracies and plotting, it's just not his thing. Not suggesting he lacks intelligence, oh no. I'm just saying he's honest.

Simple really, they don't get advanced warning of when the drugs testers are arriving.
Dunnemans ridiculous article is perhaps the biggest load of b0llux I've read in a long time. Apart from being disrespectful to his former teammates and opponents it also suggests that the drugs testers are too thick to anticipate the evasion tactics employed by those people guilty of taking drugs.
It's a wonder they ever catch anybody!
I can only surmise that he is short of money needed to write this betrayal of former friends and colleagues in order to earn a few quid

Sorry, but this is just conjecture from an unreliable source and belongs in the Express where no bu99er will read it. It will probably get coverage in the Star and Asian babes as well given desmond owns those rags as well...

I am sure a lot of the RLFANS posters are subscribers to said trashy publications so one should be able to confirm.'"
Times must be hard up your way if you're reduced to reading chip paper.

| Interesting 'article' this from dunneman. I've heard of a number of similar stories regarding national league clubs from very good sources.
Also baffled as to why he would make this up? doubt he would get any payment for such a outburst.

Well said. If they got told when they are coming, why have so many got caught for performance enhancers? Oh, sorry, they only take them when their 'personal trainers' recommend them, without checking. No player would ever knowingly take something, of course!

| The problem with hock is that he probably thought that he could have multiple doses over a few days and it would be out of his system 24-48 hours later when it isn't the case with multiple doses due to the stimulants half life.

| as for over the counter stimulants/pain relief drugs, its ridiculous how many you will see in any dressing room before a game...pills mainly painkillers, caffeine (even ephiedrine) are used to such an extent one player will suffer one day from an overdose
