2016 Super League/Championship
Widnes 5471 or 5643 *depending where you read* Super League
Leigh 4260 Championship
2017
Widnes 5767
Leigh 6521
*was also reported IIRC Leigh's average for Super League including Q8 Play Offs was circa 6,700*
In 2017 Leigh were the 8th best supported Club in Super League & our away support is regularly & significantly good.
I have also looked for older attendance records but difficult to find any.'"
Can you show me where I was comparing our attendances to other clubs ?
Criteria isn’t necessarily a direct competition/comparison with other clubs, it’s a listing of factors each club can be at a set standard in order to quality. and if Widnes were applying which I believe we are not, I’d say we could tick this box. (As could a handful of others )

Having a chequered financial history would be near the top of the list for not granting promotion, especially as the reason for the vacancy is financial collapse.
This should count as a far bigger minus than having an U18's academy, dont you think ?
Not to mention, walking away from a rental agreement, leaving the RFL and the other clubs to pick up the tab - I know that this was a huge amount and possibly unsustainable but, it wasn't me that signed it.

We should hold it against them for the next 100 years, it makes perfect sense! Keep punishing new owners! How would anything ever progress in the world with that view?

I think Widnes don’t qualify because they have been in administration within the last 2 years-therefore not meting the criteria.

Stop talking crap, Bradford only reneged on their Odsal lease last year.
I take it that your happy for others to continue paying off their "debts" (the lease that they had agreed and then walked away from)d040.gif
Interestingly, they (Bradford) were only given dispensation to move to Dewsbury for this season.

Is their home all sorted for next season. Maybe their "new" home is conditional on them getting the "golden ticket"..

Widnes do qualify I believe because we were in SL not long back. But will not be applying, it would be financial suicide with what is offered.

How do you renege on a lease that doesn't exist?
Anyway, I disagree completely with Bradford going up now. We haven't earned it and I don't want to see the club used as cannon fodder for greedy, short sighted super duper league club chairmen to avoid relegation. Clubs whose only plan for growth is short change a side from the lower division - just like their big plan for the new TV deal. The promoted club is lucky to get a half of the central funding the other clubs get as if Salford and Wakefield got their own way it would be a mere 800K! Robbing swines!
Unless Nigel has found a couple of million down the back of the settee it would likely only end one way.
That said seeing how much it would wind people up it might be quite funny.
Leigh would be my favourite to go up. Great club with a good following, ace ground and financial clout. They are building a squad good enough to stay up too. Beaumont wouldn't take any BS off the likes of Carter and Pearson and it would be ace seeing the plan backfire and one of the old boys club get relegated.

Why would you want to join an organisation that’s full of greedy short sighted super duper league club chairmen, whose only plan for growth is to short change a side from the lower division.
That’s what’s called hypocrisy. Anyway cast your mind back when bulls were one of such
super duper SL clubs, that denied Trinity when promoted, the funding for 2 years. The second division clubs helped to fund Trinity in those 2 years. Some people have such short memories, and others have long memories.

I am hearing that the 5,000 minimum ground capacity has been set specifically so that Bradford get in !

Good post Macc BBB.
I would say that Bradford fans have always been a cracking bunch to be around *at least in my experience* welcoming to Leigh fans at Odsal & causing no trouble in Leigh, good rivalry & banter without extremes. I was warmly welcomed onto your page as an interested observer/RL fan on your pages during your recent troubles as were others (obviously those not visiting to gloat).
Outside of Super League there is no bigger sleeping giant & no bigger fan base *including Toronto* most will concede that as fact, question being, is that reason enough to promote Bulls ? Certainly I am no fan of the actual stadium which might be big but has the awful track that ensures fans are well away from the action & is so decrepit that it is literally a noose around the neck of Bradford & the RFL. It also wouldn't look out of place in Chernobyl.
Hownmuch would it really cost to make Odsal a stadium really fit for Super League ?
I am with others, I believe Bradford will make their own way back to Super League long term & be all the better for it. I don't see any positives in Bulls being gifted Super League.

| If you look and listen it’s not hard to see who the 12th team is, and ile put my money where my mouth is if anyone thinks different, let’s look at it closely, there is no promotion or relegation next season, so why is mr Beaumont spending loads and loads of money

Are you sure there is no P&R at the end of the 2021 season?
