He doesn't make that many tackles either to be honest considering Roby, Aiton and Clarke all make more whilst offering far more in attack at the same time.'"
Quote: PurpleCheeseWarrior "You are in a minority amongst Wigan fans in being consistently eminently sensible.'"
When we talk about the worlds best hookers then Mental Micky should not be mentioned in this elite group of players IMO
I don't rate him at all, He likes to think that he is this hard man type of player but he is more of an out and out thug type of player although his best asset is that he will get stuck in and ruffle a few feathers, so if that's your idea of a quality 9 then you can have him
He misses far too many tackles down the middle channel and his distribution and running game leave him well down the pecking order for England selection never mind being mentioned as one of the top 10 hookers in the world
But Wane loves him and Wigan probably pay him a very attractive salary so i don't mind them paying him that salary rather than giving a talented 9 that cap space

| It's great too if you've got a 9 who can kick 40/20s from dummy-half. Roby can do it it, Hodgson can do it, Sinfield of course...

| Segeyaro has been really poor in recent months. Last year he was right up there with the best, this year no way. I suspect its down to carrying some form of injury, but he has no running game this time round, which was his main strength. Hodgson is the biggest surprise to me, a really good player now.

You must have missed Segyaro's game last weekend.
Maybe he is not up to last year's standard which made him Dally M hooker of the year (perhaps he is carrying an injury), but he is still in the top ten for sure.

| I actually dont mind Mickey Mac. Is he has good as the wigan fans claim? No? Is he the future GB captain for years to come like Rogues claimed? No. But he is a good hooker. Technically he is very good, just doesnt have that x factor but what he lacks in that he makes up for with aggression.

King James

| It depends what you mean by technically. His tackling stats are average at best, plus he misses over 10% which is crap. All his other key stats are average to poor. As you say, he makes up for a lot with his aggression, but if he didn't have that he wouldn't be in SL.

| MM is probably somewhere 15-20 in the list of best hookers, I don't think he is in the top 3 for England but I do understand why Wigan fans like him.
Segeyaro has been off a bit this year but so have the Panthers with injury disruption etc, but would still want him in my team over some other names mentioned for top 10.

A lot of his "misses" are where he rushes up and makes a big hit, not actually completing the tackle but still stopping momentum. His defence is generally outstanding and he doesn't make that many defensive read missed tackles. I wouldn't have him in a world top 10 but he's massively important to Wigan. The drop in intensity when he is spelled is huge and our best games this season have been when he's stayed on for 80 mins.

Most fans agree, but that says more about our squad than it does about Mickey Mac.

Your bench hookers have been pants. Stevie Wonder could see that.

| I am editing my earlier post which was a quite childish response on the grounds of gross stupidity.

| No Jean, I watched his game last weekend. Segayaro's still way down on form compared to last year.

| I think Wigan's attack would show far greater variety, were MM more of an all-round hooker. That said, there are aspects of the game that he performs well and I tend not to think of him as defensively weak.
