They won a trophy this year so I'm querying why they weren't included in the poll. At no point did I state that everything revolves around Wigan.

The answer would still be Leeds though.

| Permit me to drag this debate to the Championship level. In 2010 Featherstone steamrollered their way to the top and stayed there pretty much all the way through. Played Halifax in the final and stormed into a good half time lead. With me so far? Came out second half and stuck it to Halifax some more. Yep - Featherstone's season - no doubt. Fax 22-6 down with 16 mins to go. 17 mins later, Fax are Champions. Go and ask Fev fans if they had a better season in 2010 or 2011.
The answer to the OP's question is Leeds.

| Leeds by a distance.
Ask people in 20 years who won the super league title and they'll tell you Leeds. Ask them who appeared in the challenge cup final and most will be able to remember it was Wigan and Leeds. Ask those same people who won the league leaders shield and it'll be a struggle to get an answer because sadly it means little.
For top sides like Leeds, Wigan, Saints, Wire etc success has to be judged by trophies at the end of the day and the shield is nothing more then a token gesture.

The poll was to try settle an argument with my Wire supporting mate. As i'm a Leeds fan when we discuss RL its usually Leeds and Wire issues and we dont feel the need to discuss WWRL, so they were not part of our argument!!

If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.:icons39ad_files/4821-1859san_c-msnicons.jpg |

| Leeds by miles. Written off early in the season, loads of injuries to key players, and having a storming finish. Warrington again failed to follow up from previous seasons successes, and, not surprisingly to many, bottled it in key games.

| Winning the GF and getting to Wembley means Leeds did have the better season, as that's a more significant hall of trophies than Wire managed. Wire also had a great season, and probably played the best rugby on display last year, but trophies count at the end of the day. I'm disappointed that some fellow Wire fans are still griping about the League Leaders being the 'real champions'. It's not true, the champions are Leeds, like it or not, as they won the GF.

I agree with you about Leeds ( see my post ) but to say Wire 'bottled' key games is an insult to Leeds and to Wigan ( assuming you're referring to the Challenge Cup QF ). Both of those games were very close in the end, but each went to the team that played best on the day.

We’re only interested in those in the bubble. Anyone who wants to come in the bubble, you can come in.

According to SCummings, they did beat Wigan in the game at the DW Stadium It's hardly Leeds' fault that Wigan failed miserably to qualify for the biggest game of the season so they could beat them at Old Trafford is it.

With respect, you would think that would'nt you. It's an insult to neither Wigan or Leeds. Please look to your recent record in play-off games.

Why, then, did Wire not 'bottle it' in the even bigger arena of Wembley two years running? Did Leeds 'bottle it' in last year's cup final against Wigan? I'm not sure this 'bottling' business makes sense at all in talking about a team sport. Maybe I'd believe it of say, a snooker player who missed as easy pot in a deciding frame, but for sports teams there are an infinite number of reasons why they may be outplayed by their opponents on any one day. Wire v Leeds in the play-offs came down to a penalty for offside: was Myler 'bottling it' with his over-enthusiastic kick-off chase?

| I don't know where this idea that Warrington had a "poor finish" to the season or "fizzled out" in the playoffs comes from?
Warrington won their last 10 league games of the season then in the playoffs beat Huddersfield 47-0 and lost to Leeds 26-24.
Yes the 2 point defeat by Leeds came at the worst time and ended the season but it's hardly a case of Warrington losing form at the wrong time of the season.
