| The guy has some serious talent, there is no doubt about it. Not just his sheer speed and acceleration but the agility to beat the defenders last night made that a great try to watch.
But yeh, he is niggly and a bit mouthy. Hopefully this will be something that goes as he matures.
On a side note, I didn't like how he deliberately hit Carl Abletts forearm with his face - could have done some serious damage there. Not nice to watch...

| Tomkins is brilliant - Can't wait to see him up against the Aussies this summer.
I would, however, not tire of punching him in the face
I remember when we played Wigan at the DW this season and they were absolutely battering us. Broughton scored a length of the field try with Tomkins in close pursuit. After failing to catch Broughton, Tomkins started pointing at the scoreboard and goading the fans.
We need more players like him in the league though - it would be a lot less interesting league without players that you can't stand

Every team has them though, just many dont like to admit it. Try to get a Warrington fan to admit the same about Briers...

| I could do without the diving at the play of the ball and the holding down of the tackler. He's no Danny McGuire either, cut the Sky hype and the Wigan are the greatest team ever rubbish out and look at what he really is.

I kept the faith and I kept voting
Not for the iron fist but for the helping hand
For theirs is a land with a wall around it
And mine is a faith in my fellow man
Theirs is a land of hope and glory
Mine is the green field and the factory floor
Theirs are the skies all dark with bombers
And mine is the peace we knew

I agree, it's the only thing McGuire is better than Tomkins at!

| Great player with a bright future imo, just hope he doesn't go 'missing' in the four nations.
As for last nights away crowd which was mentioned earlier, I fail to see what else Huddersfield can do as a club, the passion for Rugby League in the town obvioulsy isn't there. (and before someone jumps down my throat I know there are passionate Hudds fan out there but simple fact is there should be more, the club on paper is a winner)

| Did Alex Murphy or even Tommy God ever have anything to say during a match?
Tomkins is one of the most exciting young talents to emerge in this country for ages, but he's a rugby player, not an etiquette coach. He is full of it, and all the best players have plenty of dog in them. Same as pretty much any player there are things he could improve and stuff he could reduce or cut out but I don't think sainthood is a pre-requisite for good players.

| As a non SL fan, Tomkins is the best talent in british rugby for some time now. For me he has a bit of an Edwards look to his play. Lets hope for our games sake we can uncover and develop some more talent like this and build our international team around them.

Edwards was no special talent. There were better players than him about during his time in the game.
They are very similar in look though, both incredible ugly men.

He was a bit more special than the talentless english half backs we have now!! Whilst our physical game and pack has got closer to the aussies over the years, we have no creativity. An edwards, gregory (and hanley to be greedy) in recent years would have pushed the Aussies a lot harder and possibly made a difference.

| Briers is a niggly little . That's why we love him. That's also why I don't mind Tompkins.

| Tomkins is quick, but theres not enough about him and hes not big enough to play against the Kangaroos. Their backs will eat him alive. Typical British RL focus on part of his play that's brilliant and talk him up as much as possible. Look he's quick, but he's skinny. Inglis would run straight through him.
