You mean you saw a bunch of South African union player getting a trip to England on the back of Rugby League?
Um...HELLO.....that's what they do.
And to the idiot that doesn't care about anything as long as some union players have a one of game of League every few years....are you stupid?'"
Union players playing League is better than no one playing league. If it wasnt for Union players playing league here in the UK then the current expansion of the game at grassroots level would have been severely hindered or may not have taken off at all.
While the chances of league taking off to some extent in SA may be very limited, at least if some people playing the game whether they are Union players or not, it gives the game some sort of chance at least

Exactly. RL is a tough, contact sport, so developing it in new territory necessarily involves recruiting from the ranks of guys who've played other contact sports. RU and American football are the only other sports guys can realistically be recruited from, and in South Africa RU is the only one of these they have there.

| You really are that stupid!
Recruiting union players to what?
There is not RL competition there. None. So what are you recruiting these people too?
These union types, who use resources, money and time and effort that is supposed to be for Rugby League, they use it for a one off game and never think about Rugby League again.
You people are idiots.
Recruiting?
To what?

| The whole crux of your trollish argument seems to be that they are sponging money off RL so that RU players can have a holiday or whatever. But what money is there for an organisation like the SARL? FA I think you'll find. They'd have to fundraise far more every year just to play their domestic games than the RLIF will ever provide. Not to mention their trips overseas. The people putting in the time, money and effort in SA are the same people administering the game, including players, referees, coaches etc. It's not the RLIF or the RFL or ARL. They are just like ecery other grass roots RL on the planet. They do all the work and if they are lucky they might get a little bit of help from a higher authority, but you can be sure they won't be sitting back and watching the $$ roll in. It's no different to a club in country NSW or Qld or an amateur club in the north of England. The only difference is the players are mostly new to the game because it's an expansion area. Just like Victoria or Western Australia or Wales or Serbia or Jamaica. Most probably come from union but so what. They're playing RL in an RL competition run by the South African Rugby League, which is a member of the Rugby League International Federation.

In the tour to England in October last year, The South African Rhinos failed to gain a major sponsor so the players paid individually to travel to England.
There was no money at all from any rugby league organisation
Things are happening there
colin love, Geoff carr and Tas Baitieri are very interested in the SARL right now
The Rhinos are playing the Tuks bulls tonight in SA
Things change you know

We aint the idiots, we live in the real world and not some bubble that you seem to live in. Just admit your wrong.
Unfortunately, League is always gonna be in Union's shadow in South Africa, like it is in a way in the UK

| Oh no...I've seen the light brother.
I've just realized that Rugby League in South Africa is bursting at the seams its going so well.
I mean look at all of the news you hear out of the place like....well.....hmmm.....
Still, the fact that no one involved in South Africans amazing Rugby League competition has EVER posted on the worlds biggest Rugby League site...that's just a side note.
