And thats a lovely picture but where was he when Morley went through and set up the pivotal try of the game.
Like I said earlier, credit to Aizou but Morley got up and played every other forward off the park.

| Quote: Dave T "Big hits are great for the fans, and for showing an opposition player who is boss. Did 'Macca' then go on to show his superiority and boss the game? No. Did Morley? Yes.
I have acknolwedged they were great hits, but they mean nothing ultimately, when Morley ends up single handedly taking your pack to the cleaners.'"
A score of 24-24 after normal time suggests that neither bossed the game nor did Morley single handedly take the Rovers pack to the cleaners.
If you think big hits mean nothing you've obviously never noticed the almost universal increase in intensity in the minutes following a big hit .
Big hits by themselves don't win games but they certainly contribute to the intensity, drama and passion both on the field and in the stands.

I'd often see Billy an hour later sharing a beer with his rival, with both blokes sporting half a dozen stitches in their scones. They were a breed apart, fornt-rowers - blokes like Bluey were proof of that." Johnny Raper on Billy Wilson and other front rowers of the time:44393.gif |

Something he has done many times before and I'm sure he will of marked down for next time what Makali did

| Morley was hit like that by Bailey at Headingley last season which shocked a few
Anyway Morley is immense and I would have him 2nd behing Graham on current form.
1 thing though, Paul Wood is very underrated. I think he would be missed if he was injured. He does those unnoticed things that good forwards do.

Morley was immense, and has had threads started about him (not from Wire fans) on here and other boards for his performance. Did Aizui (sp)?
Wire made a hell of a lot of mistakes, but time after time their forwards got thm into KR territory and presented their backs with more than enough opportunities.

Morley is a good player and had a great game, I wouldn't argue against that. I don't see how anyone could.

| Carvel and Morley were awesome the week before against Wigan also.
People claimed last year that he was past his best, continually quoting the stats from the SL site, but it seemed obvious that he was pretty much doing all the front row work by himself and was being targetted by defences as the major threat.
This year he's got the extra support from Carvell and the fit again Wood and to be honest, Wire's pack are looking pretty tough.

| Morley was very good for an old man. Good to see MAcca get a special on him and they had a good battle during the game. I'd say Warrington had the better props and Rovers the better second rowers.
Was a good battle across the field and nothing really between the teams as you would hope with two quality sides.

| Re second rowers: Ben Galea was a disappointment. Presumably he had one of his worst games of his season as a lot of Hull Kr fans were talking about him as a man of steel contender. His error in hoofing the ball straight in to touch when he had an overlap was something I wouldn't expect from an experienced pro. Newton played with his usual enthusiasm though and looked the better of the pair.
Credit to Westwood for playing on with his injury. It was his drive and quick play the ball that allowed Higham to get out of dummy half and put Morley away for a crucial score.
The player who really impressed me for Hull Kr was Welham, his reading of the game in defence was superb. Good to see a young British centre coming through.

| Quote: belgianxiii "BBC in "awarding MOM to a half from the winning side" shocker!'" To be fair, Briers was involved in all the crucial plays:
1) Long ball out to Bridge who made the break for our 2nd try.
2) Kick for King for our 3rd Try
3) Supported Morley and great quick catch and pass to Bridge for th last try.
4) Made the break in the 1st set of ET to give the team field position which we never really lost.
5) The drop goal.
Overall, whilst I think Morley was the best player, Briers did more than enough at crucial times to warrant MOM.
