Sorry to break up the dance, but any news on Wellington RL?

League has started over here and I have caught a couple of games thus far. Good standard, but as I only went to a couple of amateur games in London and a couple of Skolars games, hard to compare with CH1. I would say that of the 8 teams, 6 are good enough to play Skolars and there are a couple of stand out players who wouldn't look out of place in a CH1 team IMO.

The organisation is well run and with NZRL sorting out funding for staff, all that is needed is for a sugar daddy to bankroll an NRL application. Problem is, even the guy who owns the wellington wendyball team in A league is feeling the pinch and owes a few million to various people, so finding said sugar daddy may prove difficult.
Maybe Murdoch needs to throw a few quid at Wellington and let the storm stand on their own 2 feet

I believe he is no longer a billionaire .....but it wouldn't take millions.....just a leap of faith. As for SL......irt would never work......regardless of the NZ population of London....if they won't turn up for quins they won't turn up for London NZRL

Union had 1 good round basically in the last 5 years and he's spouting off.

The bottom line is on crowd averages this season;

The Bumblers are just in front of the Raiders.

The Tards are just in front of 3 Sydney NRL teams but none of them represent a whole state.

The Deads are well behind the Broncos yet the Broncos are going like a busted clacker and the Deads are apparently rooly, rooly good this year.

And TV ratings.... lol

They rarely get 100k+ for prime time live games on PayTV and I can't recall the last time an NRL game got less than 150k on PayTV. Hell, if a live NRL prime time game got 114k I'd reckon we'd be about to roll over and cark it.

FTA though, that's where it really gets funny....

its funny when they compare a S14 side to a single club side when the Super Duper sides are state sides.

i mean they are called the Queensland Reds and NSW Waratahs

so either compare them with their equivalent in RL ie the origin sides, or aggregrate the club crowds in league

but to expect fairness from a union fan!
