WEST COAST PIRATES NRL expansion? Sometime soon, maybe......:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_9857.jpg

Quote: dally messenger "also from that article .

Two new clubs - possibly from the Central Coast and a second team in Brisbane - will be added to the premiership by 2013. This will provide an extra game and extra television programming."

So you had F u c k all to beat really didn't you ?

All you had to beat was the equivalent of a park kick about football and a few jessies in tank tops , well done I'm impressed

RU crowds and finances were very strong prior to the introduction of RL

international RU games drew very large crowds of up to 40,000, and the NSWRU had around 8000 pounds in the bank. enough money indeed to buy its own ground.

AFL and soccer were getting fair crowds for their games as well.

RL started from a position of nothing.

at least in england you had established clubs and crowds and finances. we started from scratch.

please keep this up, its funny watching you losing so badly

kcab sfrawdder Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done But he with a chuckle replied That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried. So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin On his face. If he worried he hid it. He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg

Quote: dally messenger "pick the best from a bad bunch.

kicking wakey out will hopefully be a lesson for cas and others like them, maybe even bradford one day.

and also an incentive for clubs like fax that they have a chance at getting in.

some clubs certainly are moving in the right direction.

the whole idea of franchising is clubs will improve in these areas and i believe the system will pull it off.

then again you get some clubs who get brand new grounds and still fail so it does question your faith in some clubs

why is it these people just cant read or comprehend answers to posts, and you have to end up repeating the same point around five times before they understand the answer?

They were here as well

As for the footy , No they were not , and you know it , Association football only started to grow when the immigration after the war started to happen

You mean WOGBALL dont you , nobody played the sport till the immigration from the med and the UK in the 60's , thats where all your pro clubs have come from , they didn't exist till 1977 , so yes Australian RL managed to stay just about level with Rugby Union and the silly ' tank top ' game , but they did not have to compete with the worlds biggest , largest , richest sport

Anyway when the ozzie clubs had all the money from the ' pokies ' did they expand the sport with it ?

ill repeat again for the intellectually challenged, prior to the establishment of RL in sydney in 1908, every other sport was well established in sydney.

soccer was very strong in parts of sydney, including balmain.

AFL at times was a threat to club RU

and RU was teh major sport with massive crowds and money

RL started from scratch and beat them all.

and ill say it again, soccer was well established in australia prior to 1908

PRIOR TO 1908

suggests otherwise!

"With Messenger in their ranks in 1908, the NSWRL and QRL began to build club competitions that were able to provide injury benefits and financial rewards for working-class footballers. The spectator appeal of rugby league ensured it attracted large crowds and gate-takings, with Easts, Souths, Balmain, Wests, Newtown, Newcastle, Norths, Glebe and Cumberland the original NSWRL premiership clubs."
