Agree in a fashion but he just didn't do what he was asked well enough which is why he should not have been picked in the first place because he simply does not have the athletic ability to cope at that level.

How do you know Briscoe did what was asked of him? I suspect he was supposed to follow Smith in field rather than staying out wide in defence.That's probably why he was taken off. Having said that, if that was Tony Smith's tactics it shows what a clown he is - you can't give a vastly superior and quicker backline the outside.

Tom Briscoe can't be blamed for the right sided defence shambles.
It happened long before he was called upon to defend.
Where was our right sided backrower? Who was he, Why was he never there?
Squad selection was wrong, team selection was wrong.
Who on earth could pick Moore and Roby ahead of Diskin?
Tony Smith did, it starts there and probably ends there too.

Still, 41 posts now in one evening on the same point. It almost looks like you're trying to make capital out of a 19 year old being played out of position, against the best team in the world, outside a useless centre, just because he plays for Hull FC. Coupled with last night's extended eulogy on how Fox is the only winger to come close to Offiah and I think we can agree that you're labouring the point somewhat. |
