The Club have again failed to increase crowds. The offers they do run are badly publicised if at all and therefore, pointless. Without a change of direction from the senior management, they will continue to tread water at the 3,500 mark.
Interestingly, HULL FC are giving away free tickets for this Friday's game, but there has been litttle or no activity from Harlequins Rugby League surrounding our last home game of the season on the 6th. I would follow the lead of Hull FC and open the gates to everyone and hopefully the team will turn up on the pitch and impress the curious locals.

Bit in Bold
Alas....you are right and the club just seem to be treading water.

| Quins crowds are a big worry. Its not so much they are lower than everyones but by how many. If they were fgetting 4-5000 they would have a fair way to go but getting 2600 for a supposed top level RL club is terrible. The RFL should be putting them on notice their license is at risk and hopefuly that would encourage them to do something about the crowds. If they say they are doing everything possible then it is time to call it a day on a London club for now imo.
How they can only get 2600 is beyond me. In a city of 1/3rd that size in total non RL territory we can get 15000 to a game!

I would imagine that this was the case already...
Quote: JB Down Under "and hopefuly that would encourage them to do something about the crowds.!'"
alas, we have a purse string holder who has the attitude that this is his club and he will waste his money as he sees fit (IMO that is)
Quote: JB Down Under "If they say they are doing everything possible then it is time to call it a day on a London club for now imo.'"
They are doing little or nothing....(again IMO)
Quote: JB Down Under "How they can only get 2600 is beyond me. In a city of 1/3rd that size in total non RL territory we can get 15000 to a game!'"
Because 99.9% of the population don't know we exist and 99.95 of those that do, don't care
Bottom line is that the game in the south needs an injection of PROMOTIONAL CASH. not money that can be spent cuddling future LMS/Tony Clubb type players, but money spent letting local people know that LMS and Clubb exist.......

| Gateshead's first crowd over 1,000 today, a 25% increase on their previous best for the season. Can't think why

| Quote: vikings 4 ever "But as it has been suggested previously, there are only about 4 or 5 true Super League quality clubs, the rest just so happen to be playing in Super League at the moment. You shove Celtic, Quins, Wakey, Salford, Huddersfield, Cas or even Hull KR in the 2nd tier for an extended period of time and their attendances and youth development will be poor.
Becoming a feeder club would feel a bit like you have given up trying to get in to SL. Given that there are so many poor/average SL clubs, why should ambitious Championship clubs give up their dream? I'm not saying it should be easy to get into SL, but the threat of Championship clubs would keep the SL clubs on their toes.
2009 is just a snapshot of how things are now - if anything below SL is just effectively cut-off, who knows what damage that will do in the future. Imagine if the licence system was brought in just a few years ago, Hull KR probably wouldn't even be in SL, never mind near the top. You have to have the opportunity to progress or the competition and the clubs will stagnate.'"
AMEN.

ER.......hang on a moment. Are you saying that the complaints about drunken and abusive Leigh fans were unfounded or are you saying that Drunken and foul mouthed behaviour is OK?
Sorry, but if fans were being abusive and/or swearing then they should be ejected.
I have read the threads connected to this and I am amazed that anyone would try to defend such behaviour......let alone come on the VT to do so
