| If you were to look up the term “flattering scoreline” in the dictionary it would point to this game.
Considering all the Wigan fans were claiming this season as a walk over I think these fans are in for a surprise.

| McDermott looked like a man that finally understands the momentous challenge ahead of him. His comments were honest though.
Toronto look like they'll struggke to name a 17 man squad let alone a 21 man squad for next week now.

| 2 poor teams, no way did Wigan deserve to win it 32-10.

You clearly missed the pinnacle of the domestic RU calendar las week then.
Even the pundits, who are used to filling the endless, long stoppages in play with utter guff, were lost for words
Maybe your post explains why you have nothing decent to say about our game, you are clearly a closet Union fan

| Watched that and struck by how Kendall kept that game artificially close. Sky constantly gushing again about Toronto.I think Jon Wilkin didn't play tonight?Only mentioned 20 times. Both their tries very dubious. Fair few bum calls against Wigan. Zero sympathy for them pay ridiculous money for a centre and a guy who is just about done whichever code he plays. The money on those 2 would finance a full pack. The longer they stay pointless the better imo Sky and RFL desperate for them to succeed but the whole premise is doomed

A penalty, nothing more. Just unfortunate it caught O’Loughlin in the eye. Hope it’s nothing serious for him.'"
SOL is in hospital, not good if rumours are to be believed.
HM got binned for foul play preventing a try scoring opportunity, I’m pretty sure the ref just made that up. The ‘tackle’ was an accident, worthy of a penalty as it was high. For me it was a stonewall penalty try as SOL was strolling over.

I clearly know nowt about the game on the pitch, I thought TWP did superbly to go toe to toe with Wigan, I felt that on that performance they would win some games against lesser clubs.
Anyway I do know something about the business end and would suggest most players do not want to play for them full stop, looks to me like this will roughly be their squad for this year and next (there are players who are signed to 2021), the last season of the current TV deal. That should then be that....

TWP aren't in the RFL championships anymore, they have now joined Superleague. SKY don't sell subscriptions in North America they want English clubs.
But Superleague are stuck with TWP so they have to make the best of it and promote them, as do the SKY pundits. This is how business works - you make the best of a bad job if you are stuck with something you can't yet change. The RFL aren't negotiating the next TV contract - Superleague are doing this and their agreement with the RFL to let Toronto play in Superleague ends with the current contract. So TWP will probably be made to stand down then.
Unless the Transatlantic league is still on? heard anything from Ottawa and New york? is Perez still in Bradford?? Steph will know something?

| If and it's a big IF, TWP can get some success on the field and start an interest in North America, start some junior teams and get crowds up then the TV money they can potentialy tap in to will dwarf anything that SL or NRL can produce together. I doubt that this will happen but you have to give them every opportunity to try. At the moment they still look like a championship team that can compete for 30 minutes each half only for the last 10-15 to let them down. They are obviously haveing to pay more to get players if they are up to the cap limit with that team. As it stands I doubt that they will win many this year but as a developing club I wish them luck, they are going to need it if their MD is going to keep pumping money in to them. My guess is if that they get relegated then the money will dry upi and they will wither away to nothing, another failed experiment. Personally I think giving them the support they need to be competitve wouldnt be a bad thing, it's the only way the sport is going to get NA interested enough and the huge amount of money they can bring.

They can't get junior teams going as Rugby Union has the whip hand in Canada, all the rugby kids (12,000 of them) play Union and Union there has the infrastructure accordingly. We have the same problem here outside M62 land, Union has the grass roots game tied up. In addition in Toronto, Rugby Union has deliberately opened an MLR club (Toronto Arrows), the only Canadian pro RU club for the very reason of surpressing the growth of grass roots Rugby league in Canada at it's current potential source.
It's not even an IF. Eric Perez was clear neither TV deals and/or grass roots can be stimulated by one North American club, and certainly not one losing most of it's games. It needs clubs in Ottawa and New York to follow and guess what? Rugby Union already has a pro club in New York, and nothing has been heard from Ottawa and apparently Perez is now at Bradford.........
I'm afraid Bradford is the future!!
