If I progress as a player, I can still play for GB and perhaps only get beaten by 10 or 20 by the Kangaroos. Huzzah!
The entirety of international RL isn’t distilled to beating Australia. Wales V Australia is as valid an international fixture as Australia V New Zealand, all nations should be playing each other. IF they dont we dont have an international game.

I do not think we are ready for straight P&R between FT and PT yet but it is better than we have now ( two tens for me).
I would suggest that with a minimum standard for promotion then should Cas come down then they will not see the top division for decades as Fax, Sheff and Leigh probably tick the facilities box together with Widnes and Salford of the other probables to come down - Wakey need that ground built too.
It would be interesting how the Sky money would be dealt, and the structure of the next level, if 12 is adopted then potentially those 12 could run FT with a £300k deal per club.

| I would take the prediction of a Championship director, on what will happen a an SL meeting, about what will happen in 3 years time with quite a hefty pinch of salt

You keep banging on about the mythical 2 x 10 teams.
Where will you put an additional French team, plus 1 from Wales and would you guarentee their top flight status ?

As opposed to everything that super league chairmen speak is nothing but the gospel truth !!
The way the game is going there will be no game in 3 years time, and if there is it will be made up of half the teams currently being run in the 3 leagues with the quality of players vastly diluted, attendances are dropping, sponsorship is dropping, investement is dropping, action should be taken now to ensure the future of the game is maintained and improved, What actions, i dont claim to know the answers but something needs to change and quick and to start with SL chairmen should not be setting the rules for the rest of the clubs, 1 club, 1 vote.

Agreed. Essential.
Then the clubs would be self-regulating in voting for and doing what's best for the game a whole.
If we end up with 36 clubs in three leagues of 12, the 24 not in the top league would have to be careful not to push the top 12 into a complete 1895 style breakaway. That's the safeguard for the top 12 - not the "we have 4 votes, you only have 1" nonsense that exists at present.

Somethings gonna give though, realistically, innit?
All of the options come with major problems, but a choice has to be made.

Assuming there is a "facilites Box" to tick.

This is what really get my goat and is making me fall out with the game, The chairmen from the SL teams get to go to a meeting not involving anyone from any other member clubs to decide how the leagues are run, Take this dumping of youth development, a huge decision which IMO is detremental to the game as a whole in the UK. I really get sick of the SL this and SL that, there are more than just 14 teams in this country and each chairman of co have their club first and foremost but not to dump on the other clubs at the same time, Obviously survival of the fittest comes into this to some degree but the SL chairmen are the Ant bullys polishing their magnifying glasses.

To counter that, why should non-SL clubs get to decide what happens to SL?
Why shouldn't SL chairmen decide how SL youth development is run?

Nothing to do with SL chairmen speaking the truth. More to do with a persons comments On conclusions from a meeting he didn’t attend, a meeting which didn’t involve him, which actually concluded further investigations which haven’t been done yet.

Changing things, just to change things, is just about the worst thing we could do.
I think they will have a hell of a job to convince Wakefield, Castleford, Salford, London, Widnes, Bradford and Hull KR to vote to put their own SL status at risk,

Well, In answer to that its not Super League development is it, Its rugby league developement and its good for the game as a whole, Are they not supposed to be the Elite ?. or are they just wanting to take the cream from the top whilst letting every other club develop them. Great sport that isn't it, We 14 chairmen will get to decide what happens to the whole of the sport whilst not developing the kids of tomorrow, Nah sod that, let them lower league clubs do that and we will just take them when and if they are good enough, In the meantime we will take a vast majority of monies to waste and squander, We wont pay creditors and start up with another name ( Not all clubs granted but you get the jist of it ). Its all rather like a pyramid scheme, the guys at the top get all monies whilst all the littlle people underneath put in all the effort and work for the glimmer of a hope that they will get a return from the hard graft, only to find out the pyramid has collapsed, you get nothing back but grief from everyone else who invested in you whilst the big boys at the top lay on the beach sipping cocktails with their ill gotten gains.

| So we're basically going back to how it was before? Very progressive thinking by the SL chairmen. Basically a 12 team SL means more money from sky for those 12 clubs, its nothing to do with taking the game forward.

And there lies the problem of the closed shop!! Nothing will change whilst the chairmen of some clubs are only interested in self preservation. To be honest though, you cant blame them for wanting that, If i was a chairman of my club would i vote for something if it put my cloub at risk, not on your nelly !!
