| An owner who has paid out far more than other Super League club owners and the sport, and its followers, want them to disappear.
I don't think too many people have more than 18 million pounds in their Post Office account for instant spending. Some guys, perhaps in Canada, have their total investments tied up in other areas which may prevent immediate access during a pandemic.
Off with their heads!

There won't be too many with amount, but funny to see them also that don't have it within the club that is spending it with ease with no problem that it coming from their pocket

I appreciate all that, but that doesn't give him the right to just sack off the season, leaving the sport in further turmoil.

| The mismanagement predates the pandemic.
I'm not against expansion but it must have solid foundations. This was a billionaires whim made real by his providing such financial incentives and guarantees that literally were too good to be true and to gloss over the very real logistical facts that made a Canadian side nigh on ridiculous. The fact he is now unwilling to keep throwing his dollars down the gurgler leads to his forcing of the issue. As i said earlier Mcdermotts views and for that matter Woods and Rimmers will be worth hearing.

| Quote wrencat1873="wrencat1873"Can you imagine if your club or Trinity, jettisoned their overseas signings, saving themselves a fortune and demanded to be kept in SL the following season
They would get the grand 2 finger signal.'"
This is a poor comparison really, if Trinity jettisoned their overseas signings they would still have enough players to finish the season, but like Toronto would still be liable for honouring the players contract, not sure if Toronto have demanded to be kept in super league or have asked to be given permission to give an account of their situation, not quite the same is it.
Quote wrencat1873="wrencat1873"What I dont quite understand is that, with the league suspended and knowing that their players were on "short" visas,[u why didn't they pack them off home, which, one assumes, would have enabled them to play when the season re started ?[/u'"
I don't understand either that's why unlike you I haven't made any assumptions, If they "pack them off home" as you put it assuming that they could get them flights home presumably they would still have to pay them as well, whereas at least if they were still in this country it would be easier to stay in than being refused re entry, I'm not clear on procedures regarding visa applications and I'm pretty sure your not either by your comments.

| It's the deceipt & smoke & mirrors that really rankles with me.
You really don't have to cast your minds back too far to when TW & their down turned mouth piece Brian McMoanalott were going cap in hand effectively forcing a change in the Salary Cap after signing players way overpriced & SBW on a mega $$$ contract. TW basically forced the issue knowing they were going to push the cap & then saying they didn't have enough players *back then* to complete a season & that was before Covid19 Lockdown.
Add the very dubious 'official' attendance figures where probably only 60% or maybe 70% ish of the tickets are actually purchased as opposed to being gifted away.
There has just been so much game playing with TW.
FWIW I don't get the "guest Club" situation either, but if TW want full membership then they must act & adhere to the rules as the membership demands & not keep trying to force rule changes with last minute embarrassing demands upon the sport.
There is still a future for TW for me, though it is tentative & must start again with a minimum of relegation to Championship where my team will once again have to compete with them for promotion, only hopefully next time it will be for a franchise via a submitted business application.

| Let's see whay happens tomorrow eh ? Ther is to be no promotion from the championship, so that sounds like they will be allowed to stay in SL. Unless a championship club gets placed in Super League, but would create mayhem with the other champ clubs.

When are people going to let go of this nonsense, wake up and small the coffee?
Steve, you illustrate yourself how Argyle can pay way over the odds for players, and then he signs SBW for a contract worth more than HKR's whole team. You yourself dismiss the rubbish about COVID. Covid has nothing to do with Argylle deciding to pull his funding.
Go back to when they started and the question of central funding was raised then and Argyle said he didn't need it, and he doesn't need it he's a $$Billionaire.
How can there be a future if Argyle has pulled out, even the TRL dreamers admit it was a one man project. Argyle isn't even representing the club anymore, Hunter is, whilst Argyle spouts his rubbish to the media.

Correct - this is nowt to do with any Pandemic. Correct - Argyle said he would always fund the club and not look to take English TV revenues, his batman Perez said he would find TWP an NATV deal, but never did.
Nobody's "views" are worth jack SHHH. The facts are they came into the league on the basis of permanent self funding and now Argyle doesn't want to self fund anymore. Even though he can.
Once again he knows TWP doesn't work no matter how much he spends on players and marquees
Once again he knows Superleague bosses don't like or want him or his phoney club
Once again they are not a model for anyone to follow given he's blown £12,000,000 to get nowhere
McDermott, Rimmer Lenegan and Wood will spout some sort of pre-prepared PR garbage, so no they won't say anything "interesting" they won't say what they really think. Wood won't admit that he let them in at the start and in the end he said they should have started their own league . Rimmer won't say much against them as he ridiculously flagged through two more even phonier clubs probably knowing TWP's days were numbered.
All we have had since 2017 is garbage about how wonderful TWP were with nothing said against them by anyone in the game here until last autumn when McManus said Toulouse were a better choice than TWP because of the inability of the latter to develop players and play home and away through the full season.
