I agree Ivor - he has been terrible. Kept looking at Nobby every time he spoke for support and never really said anything other than the obvious and safe. Haven't been impressed with any of the "expert summarisers" on the radio to be fair.

Not really world cup related but sat in hotel watching some antiques program on bbc1 and on the program according to the Earl of Derby (ancestor of the namesake of the Derby horse race), reckoned that the term "local derby" originates from rugby league. Go figure.

with scotland playing again tonight i have had a trawl through the scottish newspapers. the glasgow herald seems to have taken to the sport rllatest articlerl Granted they mention union a lot but are quick to mention the skill and try scoring abilities, despite the unpromising headline
the daily record breaks off from their usual 10 pages of rangers and celtic news to publish this rlshort piecerl
meanwhile over in the capital the union loving Scotsman newspaper makes no mention at all of the game - let's see if they report on the result tomorrow.
