| Before anybody gets carried away having a moan about the score line. Arsenal beat Villa 4-0 in the FA cup this year, Swansea battered Bradford 5-0 in a league cup the other year. Germany hammered Brazil 7-1 in the WC. Australia got bowled out for just 60 in an Ashes test.

apart from today, when was the last one sided smashing? even in 2013 hull fc trailed 10-0 until the final minute! as poor as a performance it was it was far from a smashing
seeding will just see the same teams over and over again and the competition will become even more less attractive to fans in the early rounds than it already is

definately not!
rovers deserved to be their on merit, sometimes it just happens that one team is so much better than the other, on another day, as we've seen in the past teams can sometimes raise their games in a final and produce.

No. Hull KR beat Catalan, Wigan and Wire. They completely deserved to be in the final.

| London scored in their defeat. Sadly HKR never looked like scoring.
At least they were trying, which is something other teams don't do.
Leeds were ruthless and deserved their win.
All the game needs now is an SL with the same level as Leeds. Somehow I think it's a long way off

| Only got back from holiday in time for the second half, so did not see the "softening up" period but it was a very poor mismatch. For all the commentators trying to say Leeds were brilliant there is no getting away from the fact that KR put in the worst CC Final performance I have ever seen. Awful match played in front of a lot of empty seats.

| No need for seeding. That's the point of the cup. Everyone is equal.
There's no need to over-react to one result. The last State of Origin game was a one-sided walkover but it doesn't mean you throw out the whole system.
As for the 2 alleged offsides, no they're not offside because neither Ablett or Peacock are playing at the ball when it hits them.
As for the game, I thought the gulf in class and experience showed. Leeds were also very determined and ruthless and I don't think Hull KR could deal with it. Leeds snuffed out almost any KR attacking threat and KR couldn't contain Leeds and pin them back.

| Well done Leeds but a thought for the rest of the clubs, KR were able to fail in the final the rest of your clubs were sat in the pub watching.

| Albert Kelly was a standout with a very good performance. Unfortunately nobody was running in support of him. Most of the rest of the Hull KR team were abysmal, some even shameful -- many of them were probably overawed by the occasion.
Had Catalans been there instead, we would have seen some brilliant form from Todd Carney, Morgan Escare, John Zebolon Ta'ia, Elliot Whitehead, Louis Anderson, Anthony Gigot, Eloi Pellisier, and perhaps Krisnan Inu, plus workmanlike performances from Olivier Elima, Julien Bousquet, Jason Baitieri, Ian Henderson and Scott Dureau. Carney, Ta'ia and Whitehead in particular would have given Leeds a real challenge. Nobody in the Catalans team would have been as disastrous as Kieran Dixon.
Hull KR beat Catalans in the quarter finals at Craven Park. I could not see that as happening at a neutral ground.
Catalans were at Wembley in 2007 against a classy St Helens when they lost, but performed with dignity.

You usually talk a lot of sense, Roy, but I can't agree with that. A knock-out cup is a knock-out cup, luck of the draw is the whole point. Would you like to see that happen in the FA Cup?

I don't follow soccer !
I wasn't suggesting fixing the draw from the start. More a case of having two halves of the draw, with teams from the "Super 8s" split into halves, last year's 1,3,5 & 7 in one half of the draw, and 2, 4, 6 and 8 in the other half.
A team from the lower reaches could still get to the final just as Hull KR did, but there's be perhaps less chance of a final like today's which was a pretty dreadful mismatch. Apart from Hull FC and Leeds fans, I can't imagine anyone enjoyed that very much. I gave up after the third Leeds try, because it was too easy to see that a hammering was on the way.
To be fair, Hull KR did beat Wigan, who are clearly a strong side, and so they took their chances (I don't think the wins over Catalans at home and Warrington were particularly impressive). It's possible that Leeds are now so far ahead of any other team that they would have delivered a thumping to anybody. I'm certainly glad the current Saints side didn't go to Wembley against them, as it would have been a 20 point margin minimum. Leeds are currently far and away the best side in the competition, and it's almost impossible to see them failing to lift the SL trophy as well, without some appalling injury crisis or one-off fluke. Their backs are a league ahead of any other team, and they've worked out how to use them. Currently unstoppable.
