| The sport needs to put the players and the fans first. This doesn't do that for either.
This is bad news, giving sky more control can't be a good thing. Unless they want to offer the sport some more money they can do one.

| Quote: Andy Gilder "You reckon?
What will Sky do differently to promote the game that they don't already do for Fridays and Saturdays?
It's not like they've overrun with other live sport to show on a Friday, but it doesn't lead to wall-to-wall previews and coverage of that night's live game.
Sky shifting a game to Monday is a step backwards in terms of their RL coverage IMO - it puts it on a par with other midweek fillers like greyhound racing and speedway.'"
Well it'll be advertised for the full weekend, and when the full weekend's fixtures are over it'll be the main focus of advertising.
Friday's advertising gets mixed in with the rest of the weekend's promos. After Sunday, there's nothing left to focus on except MNF.
I don't see how Mondays can put us on a par with small sports when it's when they put the Premier League on. It's a very pessimistic view IMO.

| So far the concensus is
Great, so long as it isn't my club, a fair bit of hypocrisy on show here, the thing is , will it end up being the less glamourous clubs playing on Mondays? , or will we see local derbies and top team Lancs/Yorks matches?

Who's said that?

Local games would make sense for Mondays if travelling/attendances are an issue. Maybe not the biggest derbies, but games like Cas vs Hudds, Wakey vs Bradford, Salford vs Warrington, Wigan vs Widnes, etc. The Hull teams will just have to put up with whatever but it would make sense to make it Yorkshire clubs.

Not outright, but generally the opinion is " great for TV, but will kill attendances " , or " What about kids ? "
Maybe we'll get local games like we got, Barrow at Leigh, or Leigh at Sheffield, or just pick all the biggest matches like us and Widnes,Fax and Fev

| I struggle with Friday games and Monday games are just impossible, i wish Wire's games were all played on a Sunday personally.

| Would prefer Monday night to Saturday teatime, from a personal perspective. Might expose the game to a bigger audience.
My only concern is for those teams who have to back up the following Friday. 4 days break is as bad as easter.

| Think it does show SKY (who have always publicised our game well) are going to really push RL this year. Saw a dedicated advert for it today, and we're two weeks away from the season.

| Sky seem to have an attitude of the less that can actually make the game the better.
With Friday games the fans consensus is it should only be between local teams, but Sky will stick Hull v Saints or Wigan v London on and rub their hands.

Once again slugger us part timers do it all the time, sunday-thursday , then get up for work a few hours later, the interesting thing is ( no disrespect ) will it be the ' lesser ' clubs that get this slot?

If it replaces the Saturday game, it will probably the less glamorous clubs.
Every team is different, I suppose, but it wouldn't affect Wakey too much if the following game is a home game, as we tend to play Sunday, and the same for Cas. Could be bad for Salford though, or Leeds, or Wigan, or Saints, who tend to play on Friday.
