I said at the start of the season they would not win a match i will not change my mind but i do hope they turn some body over soon.

They won't win this season and I'd be surprised if they still exist this time next season.

They haven't got the crowds (Not that they could be expected to yet), but they won't increase until the side is capable of winning. They don't seem to have made any half decent signings this season, just random NRL nobodies and loaned SL rejectees who will be in the National Leagues next season no doubt.

I just don't see how you are meant to stabilise and move forward with diminishing interest, falling crowds, no income and low morale?

If I may play Devil's advocate here....


The expansion from 12 to 14 clubs was always going to stretch the player pool beyond its limits. The clubs already in SL always had the advantage. Perhaps, now CC are certain of SL for the next two years, they will slowly be able to bring in a better class of player from the NRL to strengthen for the rest of the current licence period.

The difference this time around though was that Celtic and Salford knew at the same time as all the other clubs that they were awarded a license. Therefore they did not face the same difficulties as previously promoted teams in terms of assembling a squad for SL.

Celtic have put in some good efforts this season so far and hopefully a morale boosting win will not be too far away. However, there is a danger that their advantage due to location will be nullified by a perceived failure to contribute to the competition next time around.
