Good john wilky last looked out
on the pitch at salford.
when the snow lay round about
deep and crisp and even
brightly played the lads that night
though the frost was cruelllll
when poor swinton scored a try
we had 94urrrrrrrrrr:7891.jpg |

| I presume that's Matty Ashurst to Leigh? Will be a good signing for them if that's the case.

To get him in his prime yes - but when fit, he's still a real handful, he's been going very well for the Eels this year and wasn't for off Origin selection in game 2 when QLD had potential injury nightmares.
Unfortunately, a fit Willie Tonga 10 years passed his best will still make a damn good SL centre - though that probably says more about our league than it does Willie Tonga.

So what does it say about the NRL and QLD if a injury prone Willie Tonga 10 years past his best is close to Origin selection?

That more or less confirms Scott Moore to Tigers then.

A couple of things; Queensland are also short of top drawer centres - after Inglis (who of course is now a fullback, but also still the best centre in the world) and Hodges, they're stocks are bare. Infact, NSW had to resort to playing Josh Dugan out of position also once one of the top like 3/4s were injured. Although I'd argue that both do have good centres available to them, but they prefer to stick with 'experienced' origin players playing out of position rather than blood a youngster.
What I would say though is that it's back to my original point, when fit, Willie Tonga is still a damn good centre, who'll tear most SL defences up if he's fit and firing.

Can't understand this signing from Cas. Despite his appalling attitude, he's not actually that good! Top for missed tackles and penalties. Cas's success has been all about thieir superb attitude.

NSW could call upon Josh Morris, Michael Jennings, Jarrod Hayne even Chris Lawrence and Jamal Idris if they needed too.
