Technically speaking Wilkin is also a home grown as he joined the year of his 18th birthday iirc. I think you counted Richardson twice though:
First Team - 8: Lomax, Makinson, Percival, Swift, Smith, Roby, Greenwood, Wilkin
Regulars - 4: Thompson, Richards, Ashworth, Knowles
Played - 4: Bailey, Fleming, Wellington, Spedding
Yet to play - 4: Grace, Richardson, Cunningham, Cooper
Overseas - 3: Morgan, Douglas, Peyroux
Others -6: Fages, Walker, LMS, Amor, Walmsley, Lee, Owens

| This is all quite refreshing, wasn't that long ago this board was filled with lines about "over the hill aussies" and "kolpak stiffs"
Looks like more and more British lads are getting game time, winning the accolades and going to ply their trade in the NRL. Good times for the national setup.

The future is bright at Warrington and dont think we get the credit that other clubs would get
13 home grown players (out of which 9 will probably play a fair few games this year)
12 first team british players (excuding home grown)
Only 2 Overseas in the squad (is there another team with less?)

Larne Patrick also spent most years as an academy player at Castleford.

Makes him a third of one doesn't it. OK if they are the rules he's yours on a technicality.
I don't mind because clearly he means that much to you so have him on the house as I think he's pretty poor tbh.

Doesn't work like that, he has to graduate from the Academy to the first team - we'd be all over the shop if we went back to U17s etc. Leeds could claim Tom Johnstone as I think he was in their U15s development side but really! He's never played first team for Hudds and isn't going to debut for them either which is the criteria set out on the OP.
That's how Fully has managed to claim Eden, you're just being silly.

Read what your buddy Fully put!
Eden played most of his U19's Academy at Wakefield but he did debut at Cas and he's claiming it.
Fair enough but if Patrick Debut at Hudds from their U19's he's a Hudds product - YOU CAN'T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS!

| Quote: vastman "I'll be honest I'm only starting this topic because this year my club Wakefield have done quite well when in the past we have not. None the less it's interesting enough.
Name the players indoor squad who have come through your Academy into the first team.
I will accept players who moved over you your club as under 19's and players who left you but have returned so long as they were in the first team at some point (includes cup games).
In order of games played.
Regulars
Tom Johnstone
Kyle Wood
Max Jowitt
Chris Anakin
All made first team debut
Jordan Crowther
James Batchelor
Rob Moules
Judah Mazive
Yet to debut
Frazer Morris
Non Academy players who were signed young from other clubs and spent most of their careers with us/you - they don't count but are worth a mention.
Reece Lyne
Joe Ardudal
Anthony Walker
Jon Molloy
9 or roughly 30% of the squad all of whom imho are SL capable to varying degrees is not bad. I'll be happier when it's neared 40% which I personally think is about the best most teams can do and be competitive.
There is a bit of a myth in RL that teams used to be made up totally of local young lads. Thats not true, half is probably the best you can really manage and stay competitive, yes there will be exceptions (Wigan spring to mind at the moment) but generally clubs have always signed players from all over the place.'"
I think Frazer Morris debuted in the Wigan vs Wakefield game in the Super 8s

I can't quite believe people are arguing who is to blame for Greg Eden. He is hardly a shining beacon of hope for English rugby league.
And surely it's not about which individual club a player "belonged" to. All clubs that contribute to a player's development should take a share of credit for that player's success.

It is much of a muchness but homegrown is generally defined as those players who have spent 3 years or more at a club before 21 or where they made their first team debut.
Otherwise we could be here arguing the toss about which academy contributed to a player when in reality it could be many.
So you would be correct in that Larne Patrick wouldn't be ours despite being from Ponte and that I went to school with him.

Pontefract is a different town to castleford so you are definitely correct.
