| After Hull got two scores ahead I thought they were going to blow it!
They just seemed to go to bits, the ball retention became comical.
Really pleased for the Hull fans though.

As soon as Fonua went down I thought that was the worst thing that could happen to Hull. Not just that they obviously lose a threequarter but the 5 minute break was the last thing they needed when on top. Never really got in the same stride again afterwards but held on for the win.
But Wigan were essentially a one man team in attack with Williams, apart from him no one looked a threat and if you swapped him and Tuimavave around to play for the opposite team then Hull would've won by 3/4 clear scores.

We are still a fair bit off the "top 4" regarding handling skills imo ,It's been a part of our game for to long now that still needs hell of a lot of improvement .

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Grr.
You are a bad man.
Unfortunate big congratulations to Hull this evening.
May they lose fifty one nil in the final.

Or Wakefield... They've played well enough this season to be taken seriously don't you think? Their coach who got unfancied KR to the final last year will have his players ready.
On the Game. It was enjoyable. Wigan and Hull both took some batterings.
A mixture of gutsy Hull defence and a slightly disjointed Wigan attack won Hull that game imo.
What's happened to the Sam Tomkins factor in attack?
Is he just behind the rest of the team coming in late or his he missing the likes of Farrell putting him into gaps?

I think 51-1 would be fair, surely any fan of Rovers of FC wouldn't want a hat trick of no shows would they?

I thought our disjointed attack kept wigan in the game TBH. We looked average with ball in hand but still should have scored 2 or 3 more tries

Bit of both. Up until the game he missed against Leeds he's been very off the boil. His confidence looks shot. Defensively he's been solid as a rock and in attack he really spruced the attack up. He's lost his pace which means the way he used to play is impossible. He's still got the rugby brain so get him in the halves and get a decent FB. It's times like this that other teams must appreciate the value of Farrell though? This workrate and his passing game has assisted so many tries over the years.
For me Sam has to get his hands on the ball as often as possible to make the opportunities. He's no longer the player to exploit the gaps, he needs to be the player who makes the gaps and being in the halves is a natural position for me. I'd like to see a halves combination of Tomkins and Leuluai next year.

Yep, they play today. Pretty much a bye for Warrington, though.

If the Warrington team take that attitude they will likely find themselves with the same result as last seasons semi final 'Bye' against HKR.

How many times in sport have we seen a team come out thinking they have won before they have played, only for the opposition out enthuse them?

Regarding Farrell.. He always destroys us. I think he's underrated.. He's like the Wigan magnet. He draws in the opposition and quick to read a pass or dummy.
It's always the Tomkins and the Charnleys who get the plaudits for the hard work he does.
Awful penalty machine though. He can lose a game as much as win one.

| The 'performance' from Tomkins was one of the most spineless I've seen from a rugby player in a long time.
Reluctant to run the ball in, the tackling technique of a frightened child, moaning at the referee, waving his arms about. A horrible cowardly bloke.
