Leigh look good and I hope they (along with Bradford, Fev or whoever) can be competitive in the middle 8 to make this system worthwhile.

However, in reality, I think they are capable of catching someone of guard in a one off game (see Leeds last year), but over 7 games there is still too big a gulf. In a one off that really matters (ie the £1,000,000 game) I wouldn't be backing them against any current Superleague team.

As good as it was to see, it's been done before. There comes a point where you have to start taking action to prevent it, or else we'll have all kinds going on (I'm talking having a 30 second window to kick off btw not a ban).

We're bound to see someone try to 'beat' this now. I suspect nipping the vending slots and buying a tray of beers to hand out to fans, nipping for a hotdog? Nipping up to the commentary gantry to 'announce' their own try?

They dont have to cover the gulf in 7 games though, just 4, and in reality only need to win a couple of those games.

Based on the current tables the middle 8 will be:

Wakefield, Hull, Hull KR and Castleford
Leigh, Bradford, Sheffield, Halifax.

If they can win against Wakefield and Hull - which both look winnable games for them - then they should get to 3rd and automatic promotion. If not, you would expect them to be competive against Wakefield in the "million pound game"

The problem is that most matches played by Leigh or Bradford are not going to prepare them adequately for playing Super League opposition. I can see either club being capable of getting close but not quite close enough.

In the same manner, losing on a regular basis in SL could hardly be called adequate preparation for the middle 8's, and that's likely what the bottom 4 SL clubs will have spent 23 rounds doing.

If one SL club hits the rails you will see 2 clubs promoted

The 7 games they play in the Qualifiers should help them prepare for the million £ game though, and it'll likely be contested by at least one Championship side (could be two SL sides ). They'll play four games against SL oppo and three against the other top Championship sides - that's decent preparation?

Even the sides that finish the Qualifiers in 7th & 8th will have learnt a lot from the experience, know what they have to do next time and come back and give it a better go.

Agree..Why they are still stuck in a "we are super league" and we are full time and do it week in and week out and you dont...

If your in the bottom 4 of super league after 23 games this season.Don't think that mentality will get you through.
