| He averages around 13 tries a season over his 11 year career.
He is about where he normally is, as he gets older, he is nudging 30 and Coaches plan for him more its always going to be tough delivering year on year.
Fullback for Oz is always going to be a tough role to hold on to but teams are shuffled to get the best available into the team, in recent years there have been 3 fullbacks, run onto the field for the Kangaroos.
In no order....
Hayne did well in the last SOO
Dugan has had his troubles but is class
Stewart
Inglis
Boyd did well replacing Slater when he was called on ( I am not a fan but he gets it done.)

Listen carefully to the conversation, especially at the end of the interview. Tomkins asks Crowe if he is interested in "a scrawny full back.." Crowe says that he already has Greg Inglis.
Then Crowe says
No way could Souths fit Tomkins in under the cap, especially with Sam Burgess due a new contract (which will be massive).

| I think people are missing the point with Tomkins -> Souths problems. The problem isn't whether he would make it into the team somewhere: obviously he would. The question is whether it is efficient for Souths to sign Tomkins, to which the answer is no. He wouldn't be worth as much to Souths as he would be to other teams (because of Inglis, and Sutton actually playing well under Maguire even though really he's pretty average), so other teams are probably going to pay more, so he will go there... not hard...

Doesn't their salary cap go up massively next year?
I think he's going to NZ in any case.

He will go to NZ because he will be part of a Wigan package that includes Shaun Wane and Thomas Leuluai. Dreary Wigan/England weather is guaranteed most of the year, unlike sunny days in Australia. So he will feel most at home in Auckland.

| Great package for Wigan.
They lose 2 of their best players and their coach and get what in return?

What does Wigan get in return? Wigan gets to taste the inevitable consequences of success.

Have you noticed the ethnic composition of South Sydney Rabbitohs player roster? It is almost exactly the composition that Crowe was denouncing/ridiculing at NZ Warriors back in 2002, when he got into the fight with Eric Watson. Caucasians are a minority in the Rabbitohs top 17.
It seems like Russell Crowe is now trying to make up for his past racist outburst.

I think Souths have always had indigenous players on their roster including stars such as Eric Simms, Eric Robinson, Kevin Longbottom and, more recently, Nathan Merritt and Greg Inglis. Their traditional heartland covers the once typically working-class suburb of Sydney known as Redfearn. Throughout its history the club has selected young Aboriginal players from both the South Sydney district and regional New South Wales. The link to the Aboriginal community of the district goes back to the formation of the Redfern All Blacks Football Club in 1930.

You are right about South Sydney and its ethnic heartland. But it's not just indigenous Australians like Inglis and Merritt whom he has signed in significant numbers. He has gone out of his way to sign Polynesians like Isaac Luke, Roy Asotasi, Ben T'eo, John Sutton, and Jeff Lima -- they are the ethnic group whom he was labeling as the "darkies" and "coconuts" at NZ Warriors back in 2002.
I might add that he also has one Asian-Australian, Andrew Everingham (half Filipino) in the first team. The team roster is a real ethnic mix that you would not have expected in the light of his 2002 rant.
