'Rugby League' should be known as 'Rugby (death by) Franchise''"
If it doesn't change the attitude at grass roots then we might as well call it Rugby (death by) Suicide.

How many in SL offers anything positive to the game? I think that is the question being asked?

| Leigh have a good ground and Halifax and Fev would get better support than London if they were in SL

| Do you really belive Fev and Fax would get 3-4 K crowds? No really.
I recognise you are having a dig at London but now you've calmed down have a look at recent history.

It was a damned sight more successful than what we've got. Salford, Cas, Giants, Hull FC, Hull KR and Wakefield were all promoted under the P&R system.
Currently with licensing, we have Bradford in administration, Crusaders have disappeared (twice) London are perpetually in trouble, Wakey have been in administration. I heard a rumour from a Salford fan last week that they'll be next and a rumour this afternoon that Cas are also in trouble.
Licensing was supposed to bring financial stability to the game, For me that was its only plus point, it hasn't. The way things are going we'll have a Super league that consists of Wigan, Leeds, Saints and Wire. Is that really what fans want?

2.3k at Fev today - Surely SL games would reach 3k easily. And with SL status, like Wakey Fev could grow their crowds - Fev were better supported than Wakey until Wakey went into SL - now it's the other way around
Halifax have a superb ground. And should be able to recruit new fans who would have gone to the Bulls I think 'Fax have been particularly badly hit by the Bulls previous marketing campaigns in their area. Then of course there's Leigh and Keighley, both prime candidates. I reckon a successful Keighley side in SL could possibly build in the RL desert that is East Lancashire too.

Thank goodness P&R is to return. With Lewis gone (Nigel next) the game is heading in the right direction. Hopefully, Bradford will survive the daft franchise experiment.'"
Franchising absolutely sod all to do with Bradfords problems.

| From what i have seen this year Fev would probably beat London and possibly Leigh or Fax would probably push them close and guess what they would bring fans to away games

Everyone does in their own way and it's only arrogant nice people like yourself who can't see that. Without many of the clubs in the tiers below super league rugby league would not be where it is today and if rugby league consisted only of super league it would fall flat on its bum.
Being a london fan you have to appreciate the privileged position you are in. Stop disparaging other clubs just because they've not been afforded the chances super league teams have.

| The way clubs are funded would have to change for p&r to work. Ie 1.2 mill to sl clubs and 90k to championship clubs makes true p&r a no no. If it was changed to a sliding scale based on league finishing positions the gap would be closed.

They do act as "domestiques" abit like the sky cycling riders carying the water for Wiggins. Everyone has there place.
But abusing someone masks that doesnt it?
Ps did the RFL by Londons ground or the Bulls, just a thought

| Cas, London, Salford, Wakey, Hull KR and Bradford need to step down a level. Leave the rest of SL to fight out a proper contest. Should then result in a pretty good semi-pro second tier league.
