| Quote: LeightonP "I thought there was intent there, but he missed, and decided to lean on Webb's head instead. I also thought that Westwood had been hunting Webb out for a while, after Webb's blatant grapple tackle on him earlier (which, if spotted and penalised, could have defused the situation). Westwood went looking for him immediately after that, but had to wait to get his retaliation in.'"
Exactly I how I saw it. Benny was definately hunting Webb.

| Webb's poor discipline and tendency to hit too high in the tackle have always been irritating for Leeds fans. I doubt he's going to change anything at this stage of his career though.
Westwood was deliberately niggling Webb in a Bailey-esque manner. Luckily for him it paid off that time. What are the odds that a tackle involving Webb and Westwood doesn't end up in a penalty being awarded one way or another?

| Quote: SmokeyTA "Westwood should be, no real difference to what Chris Bridge did, maybe its a tactic being coached at Wire, would be disappointed if so, they really dont need it, I expect it is just coincidence.
Blythe however would be the first player ever up before the DC for slowing the tackle down.'"
Don't be stupid. You are obviously ignoring the smack in the mouth that Webb gave Westwood earlier in the game. Webb has a very nasty habit of making straight tackles and made a couple last night. If you think that the Chris Bridge thing from last week is being coached, then you really are being stupid.

As i said, i expect its just coincidence that Westwood and Bridge used the same cheap shot technique to hit a player on the ground and unable to defend themselves.

| In that one case, Westwood was taking a cheap shot, nothing new, he's a cheapshot merchant - but Webb is worse.
That said, I am glad Webb plays for Leeds

| I am rather glad Webb plays for Leeds as well, and can well understand his frustrations with some of the less talented opposition players he encounters.
At this late stage in his career he has nothing left to prove, and I just wish he would use his experience more, and his head hunting tackling less.
That said, I don't think anyone should really be penalised for giving Westwood a smack.....it's hardly going to ruin his film star looks, now is it?

| Brent Webb was once a very talented RL player - now he just looks jaded, cynical and grubby; the horrible gurning and ranting at the officials every time he's tackled gives the impression of either a big baby or a prima-donna.

| Does he? I know he creates penalty after penalty for the opposition.
Oh, wait, he does create tries for them too when he lets the ball bounce.

One thing I do know, he collects Grand Final winners rings like nobodies business. The biggest baby in Rugby league is Lee Briers, if anyone dares to look at him he bawls and wets his pants.

| Well Leeds have set the standard everyone else has to follow to win a Grand Final. Warrington are apparently emulating the cheap shot part of that standard so if they can emulate the "Sinfield being the second ref" and "How dare people tackle me" parts of it then the Grand Final will be theirs soon enough.

And yet, numerous coaches in both the NRL and SL have continued to select him week in, week out. In many cases, despite having a number of supposedly better (according to opposition fans) options available.
They clearly are missing something that you and the other whiners in this thread can see - you really should take up elite level coaching with such amazing insight.
You'll be p*ssing away what's left of your credibility next by telling me you'd rather have Grix the Lesser in your team at full-back. Tell him Zak Hardaker says hello and thanks for all the tries
