| Quote TURFEDOUT="TURFEDOUT"I love it how you always exagerate ,3 years since he played for Samoa??
Actually bit closer to 2years isnt it??
It was you that made the big deal about him not playing for Samoa - when you can see he has.
Just let all the bitterness spill out,go on, have a good old cry.
You could have quite simply admitted you made a mistake.
But hey ho,you can now keep your fingers crossed that he doesnt get a Visa.'"

The Bulldogs site said no rep honours. I thanked you for the pres cutting of his game.
No bitterness sweetie. as others on here have posted: Why take a reserve grade NRL player? You have been in SL over a decade and still resort to this type of recruitment. understandable for a newly promoted team....but Wakey

Really? Wow. Do you have any comments on the benefit to our game of signing reserve grade NRL players?

| Quote SmokeyTA="SmokeyTA"still, it does pose the question of why Wakefield are willing to take a punt on an untried, untested Samoan, yet not on a young british player'"
Should we all sign big fat NZ players on big money like a certain club which shouldn't need to due to having the worlds most fantastic production line of talent? I'll tell you this much I suspect Winterstien will likely bring more to SL than Greg Eastwood will should he ever arrive. Sam Obst arrived as an unknown and has been a credit to the game and I am yet to see a British player I would even come close to replacing him with.
As for playing young British players Wakefields recent record holds up rather well these days.
If you were there last friday you will have seen Pitts, Bibb, Ferguson, Atkins, Snitch, Gleeson, Blaymire and Blake play. All eight were given their SL chance at Wakefield. Whilst only five of the 17 were overseas, 2 of whom in JD and Obst have been here that long they can apply for citizenship or does that only work for you if it's a certain Saints prop as we know your hypocrisy on these issues knows no bounds.

Yep, and gutless. The sheers audacity of a Shudds fan questioning the integrity is hysterical yet strangely sad and predictable. Have you actually produced a single player of any quality in ten years of SL?

You are so tough. Please don't bully me on the VT.
Back to topic. Is our game served well when a team who has been in SL for a decade has to opt for NRL reserve graders?
After the WC debacle many raised the issue of us bringing in lower quality overseas players. they had a point.
Wakey players like Drew/Petersen/Stosic/Martin have proven NRL records they bring proven ability to the game and can help develop youngsters. Winterstein does not do this.
But given a game in 2006 looks like he will be on his way.

As already posted, the young players not already in the 25 are not ready for the first team. They may be used in exceptional circumstances, as Blake (a part time player) was against Leeds but they are not ready for regular action.

Every young fit English player in our squad is getting the chance to play. All we have left is the academy players who you can't ask to step up and be competitive on a week in week out basis.
With our massive injury crisis and Illness effecting our squad we have been forced into making signings like this. At least at Wakey you could say our young lads are not getting shoved aside for Aussies that are no better.

Gosh
So sad you think bringing in NRL reserve graders is commendable. I disagree.

Not slating drew/petersen/martin/Stosic as they were proven NRL 1st team players. I am questioning whether an NRL reserve grader benefits our game. We seem to differ on this.
