Quote: wrencat1873 "This kind of passive thinking has seen the rise of homophobic and racist abuse and sorry pal but, that isn't acceptable, EVER.
How can you say, live your life treating people as you'd like to be treated yourself and then turn a blind eye to those openly expressed views. Surely it's a 2 way street. Show respect to others and expect that respect to be reciprocated ??

Just for the record, using "gaysplaining" isn't helping is it ? even this term is designed to belittle anyone who dares to speak up in defence of gay people.
Maybe we should just allow people to hate and ridicule minority groups, after all they are only expressing their personal views eusa_clap.gif

Quote: Ornery Optimist "Of course he would win.He has a human right to believe in a religion.He was unfairly sacked.
rlSourcerl'"

"Are there any restrictions to this right?
Public authorities cannot interfere with your right to hold or change your beliefs, but there are some situations in which public authorities can interfere with your right to manifest or show your thoughts, belief and religion. This is only allowed where the authority can show that its action is lawful, necessary and proportionate in order to protect:

public safety
public order
health or morals, and
the rights and freedoms of other people.
Action is ‘proportionate’ when it is appropriate and no more than necessary to address the problem concerned"

Also, he said he wouldnt repeat those views, and it was written into his contract, which he then did, and broke his contract.

If he was that sure he was going to win he would have followed it through, he would have been set for life.

Quote: roopy "He wasn't found guilty because he was never on trial for anything.
He took legal action against the ARU, and they settled rather than lose in court.
Many people have said they should take legal action against him, but none have, because they don't have a case.
If you think you can make a case against him, go for it. He could probably find a use for your money when you have to settle.'"

Not so, they may well have had a case, but modern business dictates that when your insurance company notifies you that you’re at your limit you take note & get out at a point where you don’t have to fork out money
You seem to think that the ARU settled using their own money

Quote: Towns88 "Or people that dont like homophobic bigots.

YES I AM A CAS FAN. Yes some idiot cas fans abused Thomas in 2010, yes it was wrong and yes I can still be offended by homophobia. That doesn't make myself or the lady with the pride flag a hypocrite.'"

Clearly an awful lot of Northerners in places like Wakefield don't care as the voted for a party and government lead by a man who referred to 'bum-boys.' I do believe Johnson will have a greater bearing on most people's lives than Mr Folau and yet where is the faux-outrage towards him?

There's plenty of outrage towards him, myself included. His attitude is diabolical not to mention his quotes around Muslim women. Though you're taking things off topic somewhat.

Johnson is lucky that he isn't a little lower down the Tory food chain as, I'm sure he would have had some problems had he been a low ranking MP and by chucking him into the argument, once again, you appear to be happy with this kind of stuff.
In context, RL is a sport that is open to all, regardless of race, creed, colour, ethnicity or whatever.
Therefore, those who condemn one or all of those groups are directly against all that our sport stands for - it's not difficult.

Catalan have signed him in full knowledge of his views and should he transgress, based on his outdated views, they will be culpable and considered complicit in his actions. An extremely perilous position to be in.

As for being from Wakefield, what on earth has that got to do with anything d040.gif

If you cant find any outrage to Boris Johnson you must live under a rock sir. And you probably wont find it here because its a rugby league forum. Israel Folau is a rugby league player, hence we are discussing it on a rugby league forum

Fair play to those fans with the flags though ... I wonder where else they've campaigned or do they focus mainly on Catalan home games?

They should have been at castleford a few years ago when Gareth Thomas played against them but I don’t recall seeing them?
