I'd have no issue with a Championship game, but would it suit championship fans any better than SL fans?

| While Thursdays might be a bad night for fans, with the right amount of notice they're a godsend for a club's commercial marketing department compared to Sundays.
I bet clubs with a focus on getting corporate customers through the door sell more packages for Thursday nights than they do for games on a Saturday or Sunday.

| No real changes in attendances today a few 10's up and down in both matches.
So no viable difference to the equivalent games from last year.

I went to my first game because I was hassled by a workmate. In 2002 I paid £14 and saw London Broncos get Knocked out of the cup at Home to Castleford and I was hooked!
I believe that Heinz were "sold" a stand at Wigan a few years back for the visit of Harlequins RL and all their staff were given seats. Not long after, Heinz came on board as a SL partner......not sure if the two events are related, but it would be fair to say they probably are.
People and companies/sponsors will attend a new sport if they are invited to.

Don't know about this seasons Leeds game, but I know last year Hull had a Thursday night game and did not sell a single corporate box.
I'd argue they have a fantastic commercial set up.

Yeah great news, probs be about 21,500 or so for hull in the end, last I heard Wigan had sold 23,000 but that was a few days back so I would assume a sell out now. Does anyone know what sales are like at Widnes??

Hull FC 11159 up to 11,999
HKR 7848 up to 8,260

Warrington 9870 up to 10,129
Widnes 5635 up to 6,861

*Couple of attendances missing off sporting life but all in all, a good look at the half-way stage of the season with only Salford and Hudds showing a dip in attendances.

| Are they compared to teams averages over the whole of the 2014 season? If so that does look pretty encouraging, especially as you would expect attendances to improve further as weather gets better and we hit the business end of the season.
As I've said before on Salford their announced attendances never seem to bare an resemblance to the actual number there so not sure how much you can read into it. Anyone who went to their game against wigan will know exactly what I mean!

Not sure how you are calculating your figures. Based on the same fixtures last season Hull are up from 11,755 to exactly 12,000. The derby attendance was up by over 2,000 and the Catalans attendance by around 1,800. Leeds and Widnes attendances both down by around 1,000. The Widnes game was our lowest regular season crowd since 2006.

Wigan are averaging about 13,800 at the minute. Apart from the Saints game our crowds have been woeful this season, and have steadily been on the decline since 2012. Without the sellout crowd for Saints we'd be averaging about 12,100.
