| Quote: Wellsy13 "You have no argument. You're reduced to telling me what mine and other people's opinions are when the reality is you're too narrow-minded to realise that people have different opinions to you and too stubborn to admit you are wrong to assert your opinion without a decent argument.
Roby has been consistently brilliant for years. Tomkins is very much the new kid on the block. That's the reason he excites. It's new. Roby excited earlier in his career, and probably would have been elevated to greater heights had he not been held back by Cunningham. To laugh at the thought that Roby could be MoS shows your lack of understanding of the sport and again your stubborn narrow-mindedness.
As for the "he didn't run a child down", I am very much of the opinion that if he did run a child down, the apologists on here would then be saying "well the child didn't die". It's a terribly desperate argument to try and excuse one wrong doing because it's not as bad as another.
Now come back when you've actually got an argument, instead of telling us how we feel.'"
Of course I have an argument and it's wiping the floor with yours.
I really don't feel the need to take this any further, I've made a very good point end of. To go any further would make this a pedantic quote feast which is exactly what you want.
For me you're wrong, get over it and move on. V

Didn't his knock on give Leeds the field position for Hall's 2nd try?

I liked his pass to his Winger close to his own line, the one that went to no one and he caught himself, 8 years olds get dropped for inept play like that.
He's "World Class"

Only players who aren't doing anything don't make mistakes - so yes world class. I've seen Slater, Thurston and even Wally Lewis make howlers so what.
As I say this vendetta with Tomkins is pure jealousy nothing more - especially from Hull fans which is no surprise.

Billy has made some big mistakes in big games he has also done 1000 times more good things than Tomkins has on the big stage, the comparison flatters Tomkins who is nowhere near the class of Slater or another half a dozen NRL fullbacks.
Scoring a few tries against crap like France does not make you the best at the top level.
I am not particularly a Slater fan by the way.
Scoring tries through soft SL defences is not a benchmark for being "World class" whatever that is, its a term never heard in Australia.
That's because the NRL is "World Class" its the benchmark and the rest are wannabes.
It only occurs to lower levels of the game to try and sell their product and 4 players as "World Class"

Tomkins is not anywhere those three players at this point of his career.
He is 22 years old, that is not particularly young in the scope of things.
Greg Inglis is 24
Jarryd Hayne 23
He may go on to be great at International level but he is not even on the radar at this point.
I do not think his build or style will get him there but I really hope he proves me wrong.

| If Vomkins scores a wonder try against Australia and plays well in both I'll upgrade my opinion of him. He's done no more so far than the likes of Lee Smith did early in their career.

Well your continued under achievement mixed with your Phenomenal sense of superiority has left the bulk of your fans bitter and unfulfilled which saddens me. I feel you suffer the green eyed monster more than most.

I'm sure you've explained this elsewhere but why are we all jealous of Tomkins again? Because he is good at RL? Well, I admit that he is but that's OK, most people are better than me. Because he is well paid? Again, sure that he is. However he'll be retired in 10 years but will still have to work for a living just like the rest of us.
I really don't get this 'jealous' thing. Sam Tomkins is a superb RL player. He is also a tool pipe. He is a modern day Garry Schofield - where is the jealousy?

| I don't understand why people are quick to put Tomkins down. Simply put he is an outstanding talent and he could cut it in the NRL I'm sure.

Well, seeing as you brought Jarrod Hayne into the equation, could you please explain what impact this 23 year old has made on the International scene?
