Quote: Bullseye "In the meantime the NHS gets overrun. Great plan. If you allow it to rip through the population unchecked it will kill people unnecessarily.

Plans are now being put in place to convert Trust gyms, canteens and other communal areas into bed space to cope with extra patients. Hope to God we don't need to use them. Allowing this situation to arise is irresponsible, better to flatten the curve and not run staff into the ground.

As for vaccine inequality around the world that undoubtedly needs tackling alongside getting the unvaccinated over here to take up a jab. The two aren't mutually exclusive.'"

I'm more concerned about those who can't get treated for more serious KILLER Diseases.

Covid was 9th on the list of causes of death as of July 2021. rlHERErl

There is a graph showing the death rate thereafter. rlHERErl

Quote: Judder Man "Scotland and Walkes have already introduced measures, but I think those should be applied to protect the unvaccinated ones.

I wouldn't worry about Covid Passports and ID cards if I was you, the government have already come through the back door and know everything about you what you do where you go, all courtesy of smartphones and social media platforms, non contact payments etc.

As for undocumented immigrants, if it captures illegal immigrants who are threat to society, then so be it.'"

They may do it via the backdoor that still doesn't mean I'll willingly sign up to there mission creep.

As for 'threat to society'. Get off that priti Patel kool aid.

The new Omicron variant produces much less severe symptoms including many people with the virus but no symptoms at all.

South Africa are more advanced with Omicron as it apparently started there after the delta variant mutated .

Their scientists are optomistic as their case numbers and hospitalisations go on the slide, that this year will see the end of Covid for them

The more optimistic note after two years of the global pandemic was echoed by the head of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, who said on Linkedin that the world had the “tools to end this calamity”.

“[iAfter two years, we now know this virus well[/i,” he wrote. “[iWe know the proven measures to control transmissionthe opportunity to turn this pandemic around for good is in our grasp[/i.”

And hopefully a full season of RL with crowds back is in our grasp

The Government (that has the ultimate say-so as to whether sports events may go ahead) should say that events CANNOT proceed if any (would be) participant is unvaccinated. The players then barred should be fined a week's wage by their club for every week they are unable to play through their own choice. This would, however, require a united front from all the clubs and a strong lead from the RFL.

if vaccines work why do unvaccinated people present a risk to those who have been vaccinated icon_cool.gif

The point is, KOKO, they present a risk to their clubs. Matchday income is vital to many clubs and a skewed fixture list with some clubs way behind on games played (see Man City 21-16 Burnley) is bad for any sport's image icon_rolleyes.gif

the point is bab you can still get covid if you are vaccinated you are just less likely to be seriously ill if you are jabbed and if you do get very ill you are likely to have underlying health conditions obese or getting on a bit i wonder how many as got the flu these days

Quote: REVENUE "It is a pity your parents weren't privy to your wonderful immune system puroresu boy they could have saved the NHS a few quid on your inoculations against Diptheria, Tetanus, Pertussis, Polio, Hib, Hepatitis B, Meniigitus C, Measles, Mumps, Pneumococcal, Flu, HPV and Menigitus C.'"

I have no idea what inoculations I recieved as a child. What I do know is I didn't recieve any which my mother never knew when they ended. Let alone any which involved mixing and matching different vaccines.

The stats tell us natural immunity does fight covid. You would be well aware that the vast majority of people prior to the vaccines and those unvaccinated today that catch covid will suffer some symptoms and quickly recover as well as then be provided with immunity against future infections.

This is why South Africa with a low amount of the population vaccinated have seen omrican not devastate the population as the previous variant gave people natural immunity against the current varient.

As I posted before the vaccines are great for those that require them or those that want them but I'm pro choice and personally don't think I require a covid Vaccine.

The government shouldn't have any say on what sports can go ahead when the sport has its own governing bodies to decide what course of action to take.

The sort of slippery slope having the state decide such things doesn't end.

Should they tell private companies they can't employ anyone unvaccinated? Any unvaccinated employer must be vaccinated or lose there job?

Sounds like an authoritarian state.

But the premier league games called off due to covid cases within squads is down to positive tests. Nobody has said these cases are because of unvaccinated players. Every super League player could be vaccinated and a squad could still be decimated by new cases.

A couple of days ago a fellah entered our shop without a mask and was asked whether he was excempt. The answer was no. He merely chose not to wear a mask. The staff informed him that they in turn chose not to serve him. The man later registered a complaint.

Freedom of choice seems to only work one way to the members of all vocal minorities.

Should games go ahead, yes, Bongser will (more often than not) be at LSV but fears that, unless several new players are announced (and quickly), social distancing will not be a problem.
