Did you all listen to the radio interview I put the link to, there in his voice it comes over loud and clear that he wants to join his mate at Leigh, now I know there will be a lot of people resentful of that, and also maay who will be seeing the green eyed monster, as a Leigh fan I am absolutely over the moon if it comes to pass and he joins the club, there will be some Sl clubs looking over their shoulder instead of just treating them with contempt as was the case last December when allowing them into SL with no threat whatsoever of finishing higher than 12th spot, if they suddenly have the situation whereby Leigh can comfortably outspend them in bringing quality player's to the LSV it will be at another SL clubs expense and honestly I will treat that with as much feeling as they did when deciding the promoted club whoever it was by withholding funding and making the announcement as late as possible would have no chance of competeing in SL '21.

Yeah but with respect we can find you a similar clip of his wife saying how enthusiastic they are to get Bradford, or another about what a great idea Liverpool RL is. He's got an aimless interest in Rugby League which you might benefit from but perhaps he'll lose interest tomorrow and try setting up a club at Birch Services. The game needs his wealth but with more focus.
I have zero axe to grind with Leigh, but I'm not convinced that a very wealthy man going to a club with an existing wealthy owner is where our sport needs Koukash to go.

Yeah....they're a poor copy of the greatest game.....
You, your like and the RFL are the reason we are trying to feel enthusiastic about
England hammering France in the autumn or Jamaica v Scotland at Post office road, whilst the copycats have another full calendar of friendlies to raise millions of pounds.
The all blacks are about to leave home for nearly 4 months......they do so because they are pro sports people who want to represent their country and have been invited to do so by their governing body. I'd suggest that the ARL and RFL could learn a lot from that, or are you in denial about the RLWC 2021 being bounced?
Marwan is another quick fix....it's why league flounders. It wants to be relevant, but only played on its own doorstep....and then the keyboard warriors whine when the BBC treat it like a local hobby.
If Marwan wants the game to do well, he should buy Swinton and build from there, because Leigh or Salford have already hit their heights.....they'll always be in the shadow of Wigan or Warrington....

It would either be a marriage made in heaven or Frank Carno's Circus, no in-between !
If it happens, as a Leigh fan I would be both excited & terrified.

You hope!
It must be gnawing away at you, that little Leigh can attract this kind of wealth, and your club has had aspirations of doing so for years but alas no one comes a knocking.
C'mon please be sensible any body going through the gate will be stuck with 'first inpressions' that will not dissapate and that is long before looking into the financials, sorry Jake- you are LaMotta I take it - you have no hope of ever getting that financial comfort blanket, but good luck any way, and I will look forward to our clashes with the Bulls next season.

| Pretty much any club would welcome a guy like Koucash and having a multi, multi millionaire coming into the sport has to be a good thing.
It will be interesting if Leigh is where he ands up as, I dont see DB as the kind of bloke who wants to be "equal" or play no 2 and neither does Koucash so, there may be an almighty fall out at some point.
There is also the cynic in me that thinks that this could be Leigh trying to ensure their SL survival as, a sport so short of cash, wouldn't want to be seen to be pushing Koucash back into the wilderness and with a restructure on the cards, Leigh (or any other serious contender wont want to risk being the wrong side of any drawbridge that may be pulled up). Their best chance of a SL spot is to find a way of remaining in the top flight.
If MK and BD are such close friends and have been so for such a long time, why is it only now that MK has stuck his head above the parapet and why wouldn't he take on a club where he could be the No 1. this makes it all seem a little bit strange, certainly in terms of timing.
On the plus side, the bloke is seriously loaded and he was happy to mix things up as far as the power base in RL is concerned.
Without him, we wouldn't have the marque signing and there is sure to be demands for a salary cap increase.
This wont help the smaller clubs in the comp but, it may help the sport.

Deck boy and Redwine man, really, that is a bit condescending, I would dearly love to hear your story of how you amassed your millions?
Yep and big fish gobble up little un's, you see this falls straight into my thinking, Leigh now instead of just purchasing a team that could win the Championship next season go out and get a squad whereby most of the players can make the transition to SL, i.e. buck the trend of waiting until the GF seeing if you are successful and then start shopping in a store that has all but sold out and the shelves are bare with the exception of the mostly returned goods that did not function as expected so marked down in price for a quick sale.
There are lessons to learned by observing what happened at Toronto, anybody with any RL nounce about them (sadly Noble and McDermott do not come into that category) knew that the Toronto team would struggle in SL it simply in it's make up did not have enough of the quality that could make the transition to SL hence why they would fail, I fully expected them to struggle and I consider that 0 from 6 would have had a much longer tail of dissapointment.
So c'mon Leigh attract the right personnel give them a 2 year contract - nobody of any note is going to accept less and let's take it from there.

Did you listen to the radio programme, there was a disclosure and something I was unaware of that Dr. Koukash is very recently divorced, perhaps over the duration of what I would expect to be a very stressful period the timing has not been right in looking for another street to walk down, that having now been resolved he may feel that the time is right to get involved again in what he said "Rugby League is now in my blood", and what better way to do it than to have a confident and good friend to share it with.

If he has been divorced,in England, he won't have much money left - now, or in the future.

Divorce or no divorce, the timing, just as the relegation axe may be about to fall on Leigh, is probably no coincidence.
Right now, it's only words and no investment has been made.
However, with RL so bereft of any money and the POSSIBILITY of Koucash coming back, the powers that be will do everything possible to keep a big fish on the hook.
