I look forward to seeing the Wigan Warriors playing at either of these 2 grounds Edge Hall Road or Central Park Sports College in SL for 2019,But i'm guessing that you will be still paying rent at the DW

Lenners owns plenty of assets, may just be selling Edge Hall Road to buy another stadium quite close to the DW one.'"
What you really mean is Wigan own a training ground as that’s what Orrell is used for. Think you’ll find others also own their own training complexes. Also your new trading facilities aren’t going to be a stadium so no he isn’t buying a stadium, he is AGAIN taking on the lease on this new training facility.

Edge Hall is a stadium (well it was when used in the RU premiership) and the sale of that will enable the purchase of another stadium.

Yes thanks. And again you aren’t moving to a stadium and it’s an embarrassing counter argument when you have to use an old small stadium you use for training and try sell it as “we own a stadium” in comparison to a genuine stadium of a rival who use it for matches.

We have a state of the art 25.000 all-seater that is for our main home fixtures.
We have a stadium in Orrel that Lenners has been offered multiple millions from the construction industry for the land to re-develop into housing.
Wigan council would not pass the building of a new stadium in the borough due to the two major ones we already have.
We own a stadium and we are in a very good position to make lots of cash from its sale..
Get over it..

No Wigan Athletic have a 25k stadium that they let you use providing it doesn’t clash with their fixtures that weekend or in the whole of June when they relay THEIR pitch. How come you’ve never switched games to Edge Hill Road when this has happened?

No a 25000 all-seater, no longer owned by Whelan but sold to a Hong Kong Investment group that has stated the sale of the club and stadium is only going to be completed because the Warriors are a massive reason for the deal, and without them, there would be too much risk to their investment.
Demanding every Warriors home game is played at the stadium hence the new pitch that is expected to last many years without replacement every season.
Yet we still have our own stadium to sell..

Yes and why do you think they want the Warriors to stay there, because they make money off them, money that could stay in the Warriors pockets if they had their own place.
“They pay a stadium hire fee of 10 per cent of their match ticket revenues to the Stadium”

Yeah you’ll have less costs elsewhere but losing out on a percentage of your ticket sales and won’t be making money elsewhere that you would with your own stadium.
If lodging at football grounds was the better option financially then most teams would do it.
