Martin Offiah averaged 45 tries a season while at Widnes and I would imagine more when he went to Wigan.

Agreed, this disregard of 100 years of history is rather disgusting and pretty much instigated by the Sky team. Apart from a tweaking of the season (to summer) and how players are paid there is no justification for records referring back to 1996 only.

Before you get your knickers in a twist, no is saying records started in 96. Otherwise they'd have talked about all time records, and proceeded to only talk about super league.

No different in football to talking about premier league top goal scorers etc.

I fully understand the concept of it being a Super League record there's no need to shout.

My point is that they are going on about it being a thing of wonder when, realistically, it's not that fantastic a record.
