Quote: dboy "There is no RFL money going into Toronto.

If, as some Bulls fans keep telling us, Odsal is worth £33M...get it sold and move on. That money definitely could be put to good use by the other clubs.'"

But the R.F.L. don't own Odsal.

Green has stated today they still plan to stay full time next year, I'd just like to know how they are going to bridge the shortfall in funding to achieve this?

I imagine an increase in season ticket prices and a trim of an absurdly large squad would be the best place to start.

Quote: vastman "Despite my own opinions regarding the arrogant nature and self inflicted injuries of the old Bulls set up saving Bradford or any other heartland club has to be a priority'"

I don't want to see Bradford, or any other club for that matter, go under. I don't, however, want to see the RFL constantly being relied on as a bail-out fund for clubs that under-perform, either on or off the pitch. That sets a very dangerous precedent to clubs that run their operations responsibly.

You called out the RFL for failing to save York a couple of days ago, despite the fact that everybody involved with York Knights has had nothing but praise for how the RFL has supported them, and yet you still continue to fire cheap insults at people you claim "know nothing".

Quote: vastman " over wasting time and effort on a vanity project that has ZERO and mark my words ZERO chance of success.'"

As you say multiple times, despite not really providing anything tangible as to why it has "ZERO" chance of success. Not that I'll expect you to provide anything mind; it wouldn't suit your chippy, defensive persona.

And of course, let's not forget that whatever happens with Toronto (or any other club for that matter) has absolutely no impact on the RFL's ability to do anything for Bradford (or any other club) should it so wish.

Well, regarding a "trim" I would suggest a major cull, & not just with the playing squad.

But an increase in S.T. prices may drive away many supporters who are already wavering on the back of this seasons disappointment.

Yup, as far as I know the Council own the freehold.

With 3000 + season ticket sales already for next season, they are ahead of most current SL clubs, never mind the third tier.
There are all sorts of issues with travel etc in a part time league but, if this does become successful, perhaps the RFL need to borrow some of the marketing skills of their head poncho ?

However, I fully agree that the Bulls should be saved, by whatever means are necessary but, the "risk all" strategy to gain "promotion" is quite ridiculous under the current format.
Even if a Championship club somehow makes it into SL, they will still have to battle the M8's the following season and although this season has seen a shake up of sorts in the top flight, "normal service" will likely resume next season and it will be the usual contenders battling for their SL status.'"

Slightly O/T but have they actually sold that many. Last I heard they were 3000 pledges to buy season tickets.

Just looking on their site it seems you put your name down to get priority for when they come out. Still if they sell 2/3rds of that it will be an achievement.

It's sad to see Bradford's demise, but no club has a right to a place in the games hierarchy, it has to be earned on the pitch in accordance with a setup off it that supports that. Sadly there's far too few clubs in the game that seem to realise the importance of the off the field setup.

As an outsider, I can see a lot of the points Marc Green is making here, but he doesn't come across well

That's awful - he should have listened to his advisors the first time around, and posted a sanitised version.

The general sentiment on the Bulls board is somewhat split, but I'm quite a fan of his statement. What exactly is so awful about it?

You know what there really is zero chance of? The rlToronto based Australian businessmanrl who's funding it putting his money into Bradford or any other club.

If Toronto or the RFL comes up in the context of another club's demise you know the person doing it is just touching themselves in their comfort zones.

It's not nearly as awful as some of the sh*t I've seen spouted in both Marc's and the club's direction since we lost that game on Sunday (and during the whole season, to be fair).

Yorkshire Radio even went as far as to post tweets stating the club would be in administration within the next 24 hours. They were quick to delete the tweet, presumably because it was based on nothing but pure conjecture.

So I can certainly forgive Marc for the tone of his statement. It must be incredibly frustrating to see these 'in the know' people suddenly pop up making claims without actually hearing what he has to say first.

Bradford are the only full time team in the Championship who don't have any kind of benefactor supporting them. If a statement like this is needed to remind some of our more forgetful supporters, then so be it.

I like that. From the heart but still respectful. Some could learn from that.

Sorry wrencat but if you believe that you will believe anything.

You remember a certain Trinity owner called Andrew Glover? Under his leadership we were posting average gates of 7,000 - and maybe there were that many in the ground though I doubt it - what I do know is that hardly any of them were paying full price and in many cases were paying nothing at all.

I am beyond sceptical regarding that figure - London never sold that many season tickets and it has a huge Aussie/Kiwi/Northern community whilst the population as a whole had at least heard of the game. Sport is full of con artists and our sport more than most, I hate to say this but I'll wager the club will collapse within 2 to 3 seasons tops.
