| Quote P-J="P-J"Dixon had a bad game, but I'd have him in my team every day of the week.
He didn't hide after a few mistakes, he put his hand up and tried to do something unlike a few of his teammates!'"
I wouldn't. For every try he scores he will cost you 3 or 4. His defence is poor and he's worse than Richie Mathers under the high ball. If it was NFL where there are two teams for attack and defence, he'd be world class. But until he can sort his defensive frailties out, he's not SL level.
I feel sorry for him, as his heart is obviously there.

| That lad showed more heart and guts than most RL players do. What it seems prove is that the British player and coaching development system are they shambles they come across as.
No disrespect to the hard working volunteers who go way beyond the call, because of their passion for the sport.
It seems to me that even the basic skills are lacking in so many players. This should not have to be taught to "professional" players yet watching so many games it is very apparent. Those who have mastered these skills are seen as something extraordinary which shouldn't be the case . It should be the norm.
The solution? Better coaching skills and training. Obstacles, too much money WASTED on 2nd rate, past it, never will be pension seeking , holidaying crocks. Some other sport seems to have the right idea. RL is still it's insular parochial my club, my club, my club only mentality. The end result is there for everyone to see.

| The lad was hopeless I am afraid. I have never seen such a poor display at any recognised level of RL. To do it on a big stage will destroy his confidence. I don't not what the coach was thinking of - should have been subbed off (if selected in the first place). Made our sport look amateur beyond belief. It was truly embarrassing to see the ball dropped so often.

Couldn't agree more. Just looked at a clip of the 1962 CC Final on Pathe - the passing accuracy was so much better than in the modern game.

| None of his errors were as funny as his reverse '20-40' against Cas this year, when he somehow managed to put an attacking cross-field kick in Cas' 20 back into his own 40m. Best thing I've ever seen on an RL pitch.
On a serious note........nope, sorry. There isn't one!

| He's a typical example of a player who has top natural athleticism, but is utterly bereft of any skill.
The abhorrent Ben Cockayne would've been a much better option,

He is lacking the skills that junior players should have mastered by the age of 12 or 13 - but many don't, because of the lack of decent coaching at many amateur clubs; couple that with the ultra-competitive league structure, which encourages the enthusiastic Dads coaching juniors to win every game, and you end up with a team of freakishly big lads banging into each other, with very little skill on display and not much room for the smaller, more athletic lads to get any game time or skills development.
I'd advocate top-slicing some central funding to sort out the grassroots game - get decent coaching and skills development into every amateur club that can achieve certain benchmarks, and revamp the jr league structures to disincentivise the current win at all costs mentality; and compel professional clubs to properly engage with their local amateur clubs, rather than ignoring them until they have a decent crop of U15's.

| London Broncos may buy Dixon back, as a replacement for the banned gambler Richard Mathers.
No Super League club would want Dixon at this point.

Sadder and more humiliating than urinating into your own mouth like a chimp? You need to re - evaluate your values Son!
Dixon had a bad day at the office but at least he worked the full day (Sneyd?) and took a good catch in the 68th minute with a host of Leeds players bearing down on him. Took some guts.
