| Saints have started very well. But Nathan Brown's teams have prior for starting like a house on fire then tailing off towards the end of the season. Last season, whilst he was bedding in at saints seemed to prevent any similiar pattern.
It's still quite early to really take too much notice of form or where teams are in the league. Had salford won last night they'd have been top.
Teams most recent experiences also tend to dictate how they approach things. Saints, after starting poorly last season and having a poor season by their standards probably had a big focus on hitting the ground running and building a good platform for the season. Whereas huddersfield, after finishing top, playing well all season and failing to make the grand final probably aren't as focused on setting things on fire early doors.
I would urge cautious optimism from saints fans.

| Watching Salford was like watching Wigan when Noble was there. I think he'll be the first coach to be sacked.

| Clue to beating saints.
Tackle round the legs and get up in their faces.
Who knows it may work

That is it for me. After last season's shambles it was very important for the club, on and off the field, to start this season well. Certainly we wont be able to keep it going all year, but it is good to see a string of decent performances for the first time in about 5 years.

| We are far from unbeatable. But we do have some great elements.
It has to be said since Brown has took over in 12 months he has made some significant changes.
There are very few who have survived the change from Royce to Brown and those who have have moved around a bit.
I'd say only Roby and Makinson are playing in the same roles they were prior to Brown. The biggest key for us is Walsh. We went with too much youth at halfback for too long, even with Eastmond they were running alone and sometimes you need a old head to make the better choices.
Put Walsh in last years team and some of those losses become wins. Doubt we would have won, but I reckon we would have been higher up. Having the big fella in Amor makes us genuine contenders. But with a long way to go.

| Nathan Brown as got Saints playing some top drawer stuff at the moment, however it is only 3 games in and we all know when a team coached by Brown starts the season like the house is on fire, come the business end of the season the flames have usually been put out big time.

Tremendous signing as I, and many Wakey fans said at the time.....shame we had to sell but life goes on.....
Despite what Phil Clarke said about it taking him 3 years and a switch to Saints to become a top prop....he's been one of the best for the last 12 months at least.....
Fantasic performance by Saints tonight.....look the complete package to me....thought so with the back end of last season and with the signings they've made.....certainly the team to beat for me....'"
Agreed.
No doubt about it, for whatever reason Trinity are an excellent finishing school for young players. I think they get a real dose of reality at the club and learn to respect the game and it's fans. I also think they leave Wakefield with some genuine affection for the old club and want their success to reflect on the club.
I think it's something the elitist on here don't get - that some clubs who though themselves are only spasmodically successful the players they contribute to the system remain a constant and valuable asset for the game as a whole. Wakefield are especially good at rehabilitating perceived failed youngsters from bigger clubs and re-injecting them back into the game - Amor a perfect example.
Get rid of scavenger (for want of a better word) clubs like us and you lose a lot of valuable players forever - it works in nature

| It makes you chuckle when Clarke & Stevo start saying Amor is looking good at Saints.
Of course he's looking good.
This lad didn't even make the Knights squad last season and clearly, he was one of the best English props in SL.
On the evidence of last night, his offload game has improved a touch but, I cant recall seeing anyone get the better of him last season and usually Amore was comfortably better than those playing with him or against him.
A top palyer, who Leeds must be kicking themselves for allowing him to stay at Wakefield.

| I'd hate to see Salfords missed-tackle count from last night.
Noble is a terrible coach. He's trying emulate the Bulls' Awful Foursome, but it's not working with overpaid holiday-makers though.

49 missed tackles in the game by Salford, stars were theo fages (7) and Hock ( also 7).
Missing 7 tackles in one game?? They made it easy for Saints. I doubt Leeds, Hudds and Wigan will be as kind

| Is that not the pay off with Hock. Eye catching runs, but the rest of the game is a bit of a chore??
