It might even be time to tap up a RU club that needs some summer income and see if they want to launch a RL wing (hello, Bath).

The way the club is run is flawed and was always doomed to fail......a quick glance at the way the NRL and the clubs, together with the broadcast partner, funded the Melbourne expansion club shows how "expansion" should be handled.....Jesus, even the AFL stack the deck when it comes to expansion, but the RFL are happy for countless millions of other peoples money to be lost whilst they sit at the head of a "national" sport.

Would the sport as a whole lose some central funding (Sport England?) if we didn't have London in the top flight?

They were never an integral wing of Harlequins though were they? I'm talking about finding a sympathetic RU club down south and persuading/cajoling/bribing them into becoming a dual-code club.

I hope this can all be resolved quickly and painlessly. It really does seem to be one thing after another and I feel for the fans, every time I have been down there I have had the pleasure of meeting well informed, passionate yet frustrated loyal supporters. I always think back to last year when London beat us 62-18. The Wire message board was in meltdown however we had a brilliant night and it was around midnight when we finally left the Stoop, it was great to see fans, players and Hughes so happy.

I honestly believe that London can be successful, but for that to happen it has to be a Melbourne Storm type venture. People like to back a winner at the end of the day.

While running a RL team at an amatuer union club can increase revenue during the summer, it really wouldnt be anything more than a financial drain for any pro union club
