| Outrageous that Edwards isn't there! No point in even voting, without prejudice we all know who it SHOULD be!

Not sure how I feel about a statue of a rugby union coach to represent RL at Wembley . . . . .

| Edwards may have won those final BUT that was at a time when Wigan were effectively the only professional RL club. No problem with him not being there. Offiah was a one trick pony..flat out speed. Put a decent defense in front of him and he got rid of the ball quicker than anything. Of the individuals listed I'd go with Murphy BUT think out of the options listed a general one is best.
Personally I still think it should have been Don Fox. Lance Todd winner and THAT miss all in the same game. Now that sums up the challenge cup final..... Ecstacy and heartache.

| Definitely Murphy, as a player AND a coach.
Offiah as good as he was, is a gobe.

| Quote: Odem "He was also a winner in the 1985 final and lost the 84 and 99 finals.
9 wins in finals a Wembley, 11 appearances, he also captained GB there. How on earth is he not on the list?'"
As a Leeds fan it hurts me enormously but I agree - at least based upon the players I've seen in the flesh. It'd also be a good way to ensure that history isn't rewritten as it'd remind those union-freindly journalists exactly where Edwards was moulded.

| Look there's already a statue of Edwards on Notre Dame. That's more than enough for the modern world.

Alec Murphy is widely recognised in this country and Australia as probably the finest/cleverest player ever to play the game , between him and Offiah it is no contest'"
Finest/cleverest, that's just your opinion. As good as Murphy was, he isn't that well known outside of RL circles and of those mostly the over 50's. Offiah is generally recognised by many more people but I'd go for the group representation thingy.

I said that ages ago. Would sum everything up about the Challenge Cup and RL at Wembley. The two most iconic images are those two men on their knees.

| If i was Fox i wouldn't want a statue of me at the lowest point of my career, iconic or not it wouldn't be fair to immortalise failure regardless of the poetry of it, besides he's not in the shortlist so move on, it's not happening.

No, not just my opinion, as I said both over here and in OZ

| Martin Offiah was a fantasic talent and player....but what grates on me if he was to be picked is that he is not a "real" RL man if you get my drift. in alot of his interviews he says many times that before Widnes approached him he had little or no knowledge of rugby league

Same here, Offiah was a great player, but not a RL legend, any of the others fine
