| Quote Winter is Coming="Winter is Coming"clearly I was explaining why I like it. Both expressing an opinion and qualifying it. If that has to be pointed out to you its probably time for what is commonly known these days as 'face palm'

I quite understand the logo, and joking aside it's well thought out, but I'll say it again, if you felt the need to explain it then it hasn't worked.

| From my point of view, I see nothing wrong with the Batley logo and if it appeals to their target audience who are we to snipe?

| Logos of that nature make me feel quite embarrassed that I'm apparently following a sport which markets itself exclusively to children (and not very bright children at that by the looks of it). Association football clubs crests have a touch of class, and in some a cases possess an unparalleled simplicity in their aesthetics - why must they appeal to anyone in particular, but rather attempt to represent a club's identity, with its history and association to where its located? That "Bulldogs" logo is akin to vandalism upon the gallant youths.

You make some reasonable points so I think you'll like this: [urlhttp://www.canberra.edu.au/ucu/sports-fitness/sporting-clubs/rugby-league-club[/url
I'm not sure what historic references there are in the St Helens logo, maybe you should include coal mining, textiles and glass blowing
You could be known as the Coal Spinning Blowers, catchy eh.
(no insults intended, by the way)
You only have to do some google image searches to find the good, bad and plain strange in all sports.

I don't think Batley's looks that bad to be fair, no worse than plenty of others as mentioned. I'm still getting used to the new 'Centurions' one whereas the old one was pretty smart, all considered.'"
To an extent but even ourlogo has had an overhaul back in 2004 IIRC. And even older ......

| I dont have any gripes either way, But I would ask why do clubs feel the need to change? The coat of arms of towns & cities have been around since before any of us were born & will be around long after we have passed into history. Why do they think younger supporters dont connect with the traditional badges? I can understand the mascots & how they are used to get the young kids involved but why chuck out your heritage & history.

It's about creating a brand. There would be little point in Leeds having Ronnie the Rhino for instance as a mascot and then that not be reflected in the club name or logo since it would massively devalue the effect of that mascot. For example it is a little strange to see a horse as mascot for a club called Harlequins. If it's called London Broncos it suddenly makes more sense.
Whilst it's disappointing that clubs had to resort this kind of branding, it has definitely improved the attractiveness of the club especially to kids (when it's done well) and this kind of focus on kids will reap benefits in the longer term.
What I would like to see though is the club/city/town crest also on team's shirts as well as the club logo. Best of both worlds in my view.
