| Quote j.c="j.c"firstly,its a shame they cant find some land for a stadium which would keep both clubs happy.
secondly,if there was a merger between the clubs it would be a merger of equals and i think that would be a great addition to a real SLE competition.
thirdly, the difficult =#FF0000bit would be to find a name which would be suitable for both clubs.'"
Castleford Trinity
Wakefield Tigers
Wakeford Wizards
Calder Trinity Tigers
Trinity Tigers
With alternating kits every season
Year one RWB home kit Amber and Black away kit
Year two Amber and Black home kit and RWB away kit.
Also a museum on the site detailing both clubs history ending in the story of the merger and their first silverware in a generation.

| Quote Gaslight="Gaslight"=#8000FFIt's pretty obvious Glasshoughton is the most logical choice, but the Wakefield fans are blinkered, I mean they think all this is a bad idea:
Next to the 2nd most visited attraction in England, HUGE commercial opportunities there.
Next door to a train station, a motorway junction and when finished 4 roads into the area.
Already gained outline planning permission, with NO objections, unlike Newmarket which is riddled with objections and a high possibility of the Government calling it in for review.
3 week away from being ready for full planning permission to be submitted.
Still only 8 mile or so away from Wakefield, so it isn't that far, and because they like to use this little quote when it suits them, I'll use it now "Cas is in Wakefield anyway"'"
2nd most visited attraction?
More that Alton Towers? Blackpool Pleasure Beach?

Sounds like that part of the district is doing well.
If a stadium is dependent on public money, maybe they ought to spend it elsewhere so more of the district feels the benefit?

Great! In very small area already saturated with visitors you think its a good idea to throw in 10K more. Of all the virtues Glasshoughton has that isn't one of them.

=#8040FFYes, a stadium that close would generate more people going to games on the basis some people will wonder what is happening and go to have a look.
There are (and will be) plenty of roads to accommodate for it all, the location is one of the best in RL for a stadium no 2 ways about it.

| I don't understand why people think Wakefield would want to play out of Glasshoughton? It's just as far away as Oakwell in Barnsley, they might as well just play there. At least then they wouldn't be on the doorstep of their biggest rivals, and technically it would be expansion into West Yorkshire.
They also could be in there by next season, and it would mean Cas have no options. If I were a Wakefield director, I'd be pushing for this as the most probable solution. If they dropped the "Wakefield" part and went to just "Trinity Wildcats", they could even open up a whole new market in Barnsley.

| If Barnsley would host Wakey, and they took that option, they could possibly save themselves in terms of having a future in Superleague.
I'm in the camp that believes the RFL will probably look to get rid if 1 of the 2 clubs come licence time and if Wakey went off to Barnsley leaving Cas without the means for a new stadium then Cas would most likely lose out come licence time.
I'm not saying it's right, it's cynical and spiteful, but as the powers that be are so (wrongly IMO) obsessed with stadiums then, sadly, that's how it could work out.
