I'd also suggest he isn't as good as Higgings, but Matterson could always play him in the halves.

So how are things down the moon these days mate?
Anyone actually turning up to watch?
I met a bloke the other day who ALMOST came to the Storm warm up game the other weekend but he decided to hit the Walkabout instead for 'Snakebite Sunday'
He is an AFL fan but
I think I might come and watch a Quins game before I go back to Oz.
What will be the best one??

No??
Im serious.
I have been in London for a while now but have never come to the moon for a Quins game.
The only time I ever went to the Stoop was for the Australia v NZ 4 nations game last year. That was a pretty good night but probably only due to all the Antips there.
I hear a 'Quins experience' is pretty ordinary but I think it's something I really ought to try once before I go home to the Sutherland shire

You wouldn't like it. Why don't you do what most Ockers do when living in London, buy an old Wallabies top off ebay and pretend you're big on your rah rah?

So it's clearly the warm welcome the transient population receive down the 'moon' that makes them come back time and time again then?

Everybody gets a warm welcome, unfortunately most of the transient population are too busy pretending to be Wallabies fans down the pub. London RL fans are real RL fans, they have to be otherwise they'd be in the pub pretending to be rah rah's too!

These 'London RL fans' ..... are these the ones that are camouflage experts?
Because anytime I see 'highlights' of a London Harlequins RL fixture all I see are lots of empty seats.

It's obviously all the missing Ockers who claim to be into their RL but spend all their time down the pub pretending to be Wallabies fans.

Just because quite a few of the London based Antipodean community like their footy it doesnt mean we want to pay to watch Harlequins try and play it.
I like Scotts porridge oats too... but I wouldnt go and sit in the middle of a field in Scotland somewhere and watch them growing it.

| I can understand the homesickness, being a Wire in London. Never really had it myself but the lack of people who talked about rugby or even heard of 'league' did get me down did get me down a bit.
Watched Quins plenty of times and as much as i love watching the rugby at the Stoop it's not the same atmosphere, saying that 3 empty stands does that. Maybe it is the same for the players, they just don't get the same intensity.
I hope Quins can sort it out though

He’s coming back up North for people and times like me. The thing is with London although I’ve never been it does seem to be pretty dull.
Well that’s when I’ve seen it on Christmas day with the Queens speech.

| I can see why London might be more attractive than up North, you can go anywhere without being recognised, just go out to the shops without signing autographs, and as others have said, being comparatively rich and young in london would be sweet!

Being from the shire you will feel right at home in a stadium with a small crowd, underperforming team and no atmosphere! You might struggle to find aussie flag to drape yourself in and a Lebanese to beat up though to make you feel like your really back in Cronulla!
