Tell me, during your time in the Motherland, how many RL games have you actually attended in the UK to gather your in-depth knowledge of our sport?
It does seem that you have picked up so much knowledge about it that you must have attended dozens if not hundreds of games

Think I have been to about 6 or 7 SL matches since I have been in the UK.
Have I enjoyed them....I've enjoyed some more than others.
Easily the worst one was Celtic v Leeds .... it was embarrassingly poor.
However don't let that put you off.
Barry McKenzie became the Dalai Lama of footy not merely from attending low quality Superleague games, but having attended many many more in the NRL as well as watching all manner of footy shows on the idiot box both back in Australia and in the UK.

You're not bad at what you do, but there are plenty who are better and earn more...
Infact, you sound a bit like Gareth Ellis...

It gives us a level of satisfaction knowing we're helping out the developing nations.

But I'm not entirely supportive of the NRL's seemingly recent policy of employing Poms in the NRL. If rumours are to be belived we may have THREE of them playing in the best league in the world next season.
There will be Ellis.....ummmm that guy who no one has ever heard of who has also joined the Tigers....and someone called Burgess (who I must admit I had never heard of until I started reading these forums).
As I've said I'm all for helping developing nations.....but somehow I think that having more than just one token pom in the NRL is a bit wrong.
I fully appreciate the fact we have to help these people out....but I'm not sure this is the best policy.
I would be more inclined to take on more PNG players ready for when we allow a PNG side into the NRL rather than go for the comedy value of hiring Poms.'"
i think we need to send more English players to Aus so that we can show you how to behavbe in a professional and law abiding manner. |
